Thanks so much for sharing, cocksmoker. I was just wondering to myself today, "Gee, I wonder who Heyduke is going to put on his ignore list this summer?"

God forbid anyone should question your views, that must make them lesser people than you.

How does it feel to be a self-righteous egotistical prick? What does the kool-aid taste like?

    Fuck you.
Congrats, mags! We collected 1030.68! for birdman!

I'm not one for blocking but Albert Gore could make this list.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

It really amuses me how you need a button to ignore someone. I just ignore AJ. Nathan is a tool, but I think that's the point.

Jer and Nanuq pretty much kick ass as far as I am concerned.

Besides this place would be pretty boring without the goofiness.

Why can't the government censor our mail, like in other countries?

    Somebody here gets it.

Eh, maybe I'll stop picking fights. Jer does it better anyway.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine putting anyone on ignore. Sure maybe someones take doesn't work for me 90% of the time, but then all off a sudden, I am thinking to myself, "fuck, Jer's take is totally right on and so was that one, WTF???, why is everyone ragging on this guy" We are all occasionally entertaining (except Alpine Junky) so I will keep reading what everyone has to say, waiting for that occasional gem that is tough to find in my normal daily grind.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

^^^^I think the first time I ignored someone was when they posted

    huge amounts of white space

    in multiple threads.

Now I ignore a few more folks, mostly as a way to control myself from responding to douchebaggery. if they're not on ignore, I end up responding and just making myself out to be a douchebag too.

Ignore is pretty lame, I put Jer on it for a while but I've come to kinda like him, or at least not hate him. I did the same to Nanuq, anyone would agree he's a pain in the ass sometimes, but ignoring him doesn't fix that.

Might as well take the medicine straight up.

Ignoring people you don't agree with seems pretty immature and ridiculous to me.

These people don't really bug me, and I try to not have personal feuds with random douchebags thousands of miles away, but, by and large, they're just...boring.

I could see ignoring the blatant trolls, but alot of those usernames are the ones people on the board widely don't agree with, but aren't guilty of a whole lot outside of that, and it's not like they can't substantiate their perspectives. Kinda speaks to something else you might be doing, and it's clear what Hayduke is doing. Just because I may not agree with someone doesn't mean I can't take in their perspective and broaden my view.

And Tom from Austria is a riot, real or not, so I just don't get that.

I spend a lot of time on this board. Like, a lot. Probably too much. I'm in between jobs right now, not really stoked on skiing at the moment, and my bike is broken, so I have a lot of free time.

Mostly they're on there for being 100% predictable. All these people are playing roles on this messageboard, and once they've typecasted themselves, I can fill in the blanks myself. Maybe these people had interesting points, but it was totally lost in their constant spew of rhetoric. It's why I don't like church: there is generally a good message involved, but I can't get past the ritualistic, mind-closing repetitiveness. And then some are on there for consistently responding to trolls, and others are on there for being consistently dumb. I compulsively read a lot of these threads, and there are a great deal of posts where I feel like I just wasted my time, so I do it for my convenience.

Spend some more time reading, and you will realize that even Tom from Austria is a one-note fiddle. Don't get me wrong, I often click on the threads or "view post" on ignored posts, but mostly I later realize that I didn't need to read it.

Iceman got really close to the ignore list during his Nanuq feud. I'm sure it's interesting to him, but frankly it's boring to me. And I still click on rideit's posts from time to time, but really, anything that keeps me away from my tendency to get involved here is a good thing.

Edit: Look at Kali Boy, a couple posts up. Another one-note fiddle. See what I mean?

There are the people who post gross pics or huge amounts of white space. I can't think of a single good argument to NOT have them on ignore.

As for others, having them on ignore doesn't mean you never read their posts. I put people on ignore when I realize that they're just not worth my energy, as squatch said, they become too predictable and one-note. Doesn't mean I don't occasionally read their posts, it just means that reading the board in general becomes smoother. I also use ignore as a reminder; I may click on a post to read it, but that extra step serves as a reminder to me not to take any bait, that those people aren't worth it.

How do you know it doesn't? How do you know you've received everything sent to you? How do you know you're not been watched?
