if they're playing field games with a local paintball outfit, they usually force you to buy their paint and won't let you use your own. It's for "liability" of course but it's their bread and butter $$$

Its been suggested that I try paintball, as a summer sport that my husband and I could do together.
One question I have is: If I'm a pretty good shot with my vermit killer, will I likely be pretty good with paintball, or is it a completely different feel and aim?

I'll tell you, my husband sucks with any kind of weapon, while I came from a hunting family.
I'm kinda worried that my husband won't like it if I kill him too easily in paintball.

Completely different. It's closer to a shotgun than a rifle, but still different. One of the most fun games I ever had was playing against Marines in Jacksonville, NC. They treated their guns like rifles and paintballs like bullets. We just ran through them and killed tham all in seconds. They would never even consider something like a bush to be cover, but in paintball, it is (there's a difference between cover and concealment). They learned though, by the end of the day, they were playing paintball too.

    Get the Tippman 98's
best woods/easy to use/basic/yet still can be competitive/bombproof gun for the price.
Get a small hand held cronograph, some masks for ANYONE who will be in the woods, some old camo clothes from the army navy store, and you'll be good.

Those are some awesome phantoms, I would love to get started playing again, and think pump would be sickkk

and Marcus, if you still have it you should give me your angel. for free

Since summer is here and I was thinking about it...I thought I would bump this to the top. Does anyone know any good places to play around Denver that would also be able to rent me a HP tank?

I still have a couple guns from about 4 years ago...they were the bomb back then, but my tanks all need hydro tested.

I have not played in literally 4 years...I was really into it...we had a team that played tourney ball (we even got a couple pics in some mags at the peak), we had some sponsors and our own Sup'Airball field.

I would like to go play again once this summer but never played around Denver. Any mags interested?

I'll sell ya my Tippman A-5... With all my bottles, stainless braided remote line, and combo chamber/combat stock, helmet, etc. etc... It just needs a barrell. It's the tommy gun of pb and it rocks. Haven't used it in almost two years and anybody can take it apart, it's super easy. PM if you want it. I can send pictures.

to the OP i know the post is quite old, but you should look into getting thermal lenses for whichever goggle/masks you got. you cant hit anything if you cant see.

i miss my phantom, nothing like playing with a stock class pump in an open game, it really pisses the guys with angels and whatnot off when you hit them with one shot as theyre raining paint all over the place.

Gretch, when i was in town a month or so ago i played at this place http://www.americanpaintballcoliseum.com/new/

i showed up to play at an odd time and they were nice enough to let me play with some private groups that were there. they also use compressed air for all their rental stuff, so im sure theyll rent you a tank if youre going to play there.

if im in town again ill drop you a pm so we can go play, but its tough to justify a 4 hour drive for a day trip.

this thread reminds me how much i miss playing. played for like 8 years.

You can hydro a tank pretty easy, there's a bunch of websites that do it or you could take it to a local scuba shop.

Another way to go about it is to just pick up a used steel tank. They go for cheap, and are usually pretty easy to find.
