    Cabelas fly rods

Anyone have any experience with Cabelas flyrods? I'm lookin for a cheap 7 weight setup, and they have some good lookin deals....assuming the rods aren't total crap. They don't need to be super precise or anything....I'm just gonna be using it for large/smallmouth.

I'm thinking either the three forks or the Traditional II.

I just bought a Traditional 7wt. but haven't tried it out yet. The Traditional has been a longtime favorite by many Cabela's faithful and has great reviews.

Another thumbs up for TFO. Great ChiCom rods for the $$$.

Posted several times in other threads about the LST line of rods being bomber for the dough (around 175-200)...have no qualms at all giving them the thumbs up for a medium fast action stick I don't mind dragging through, under, and over the brush. Great warranty also.

Pulled the trigger on a Traditional II. I'll let you know how it goes.
My buddy has a couple TFO rods, and while I agree that the quality is good for the price, I just don't like the way they feel very much. I can't even really qaulify it, something just seems......off.

One nice thing about Cabela's rods - you get a nice rod for the price. They last forever, but if you ever break it, they have a good policy. The question is, do YOU like it? If you do, then it doesn't matter what the price tag or how much you spent on it is. I always figured if you are worried about other people seeing what kind of gear you are using, you are in the wrong sport. I've been a Cabela's customer all my life and my dad has been so longer than that. My very first flyrod came from Cabela's and I still use it today (a Fenwick 8ft 6wt).

Gonna take the Cabela's Traditional 7wt up to the N. Platte tomorrow and throw some bugs at some big fish from a drift boat.

My first fly-rod was/is a Cabelas 4-piece 4wt. I don't remember the exact name, but I'm sure it was among their cheaper models. It's certainly not the "best" rod i've ever fished, but I always find excuses to take it out. I'd recommend them based solely on price:enjoyment ratio.

Just bought my first Cabelas rod. It's not a flyrod (6 ft 6 in medium action casting) and I can't wait to get it on the water. Pretty stoked on the quality for a 20$ rod.

    I fished my $40 Cabela's rod with a $150 reel on Saturday.
