I have tried to work them myself and I fail. I have one that I like out of several.

Never used a drop in, but hear good things about the Geissele.

It did seem to have a little bit of snark or gotcha on it as worded. Just a hint. That's the problem with this kind of written media. There is no way to see facial expressions or hear tone of voice. And really easy to get butt hurt over what turns out to be nothing.

Would love a break around 3.5lbs, nice, smooth and crisp. Single stage I think would work for me. Whats the advantages to a drop in setup? Ive seen Geissele GL2s/SSAs on decent sales, about $30 off the MSRP, worth the money? Lots of people saying you may end up with one of those one day anyways. Buy once, cry once?
Riverman gun works O.A.F, Operator As Fuck, drop in trigger. $165. US made in Coeur d'Alene ID. I'm doing a build and one will go in my gun. Breaks at 3lbs, crisp single stage, zero creep.

That's funny. My dad was telling me this past Sunday that back in the 70s groups of the customs agents in ny would go out for lunch and beer and then go to the range to have their target practice / abilities check sign off with relative frequency. Haha. Oh well

With the exception of the price, you've just described a Timney 661/667. I have 2 661-S's and they are amazing. Only other drop ins I've tried recently are the Black Rain (shit) and the CMC (pretty good).

You really only need to worry about cleaning up 2 surfaces (hammer & sear engagment surfaces) to get a nice clean break. Snipping a leg on the hammer spring and giving the trigger spring a 20-25 degree tweak will lighten up the pull nicely. Only thing left to address is take up which I normally do by tapping the pistol grip screw so it is threaded all the way into the trigger housing cavity and using a 1/4"x20 set screw w some loctite to take out all of the creep. YMMV, but I find that these little tweaks are about a 100% improvement over just throwing a lpk into a receiver.

Thinking about swapping a Colt stainless 6" python for three Colt 6920 AR's.

    Good or bad idea?

Might not be a great deal in terms of 'value' as depending on the age & condition of the python it may be worth more than the 3 AR's, but I'd make the trade in a heartbeat - assuming the 6920's are all small pin lowers (I think they are, only the early Colt AR's used the large pins IIRC). If you can get your hands on pre-ban (94) lowers, you can flip them for solid $$$ in commie states like CT. A POS Anderson or Olympic pre-ban stripped lower currently goes for ~$1000 in CT since those are the only lowers normal citizens are still allowed to purchase.

Pythons are sweet, keep it. Pythons go up in value, ar's don't.

I've never thought a drop in trigger was worth it. The JP triggers aren't that hard to put in and they are pretty crisp.

Very true, although you won't find too many liberals pushing to ban wheel guns (yet), so that market could theoretically change significantly - as it already has in states like CT. If a new AWB were to pass (seems extraordinarily unlikely) the AR's would triple in value, while the pythons value will remain relatively unchanged.

Swapped out the grip on the chicom for the proper wood one and the DA Fighter brake is almost 2" shorter over the stock Arsenal unit and has much better flash killz.

This is the only Colt wheel gun I own. Inherited from a friend. Tons of others, but all S&W.

I know, its a dilemma. I have 6 AR's (one is a stripped receiver to build) plus a go-fast that looks like an AR.

So far, best offer I have is 2 for 1, which is not acceptable. Cabelas put the value at $2,500-$3,500, but will only give 65% credit toward a trade.

Bottom one is a National Match.

Keep it. AR15s are dime a dozen. The Python hasn't been made for quite a while.

^that's a raw deal, I wouldn't have been too nice to the guy.

Gunbroker it if you really want it gone. A 6" ss on gb starts at $3k you could get $4k if you waited long enough.

I'd go $2500 on it in a heartbeat.

Once you get a half dozens ar's what's the point? You can always swap uppers.
Then again, I have at least 8-10.

I have a Geissele in my .308 and it's legit. Breaks like a finely tuned bolt action trigger, no joke. World of difference and took all of three minutes to install.

Personally, I prefer a well built AK over the AR. Rifle Dynamics or some such.

But I guess the AR is cooler looking, or has more attachments. It's like the Jeep Wrangler of the gun world.

    GUNS!!!!!!!!

    You rang?

Build it Ken. Easy as shit and super fun. Mines not fully complete. Still need to drop in the trigger, will be done tonight, and put my scope on. You can build a kickass gun for way less than u can buy over the counter. I have 1k into just the gun. Nothing in the 1k range over the counter will come close to this build from what I have seen, closer to $1800.

Palmetto arms SSbarrel complete upper, match 1/7 twist with Wylde 223 Chamber, Anderson lower, Operator As Fuck drop in 3lb trigger group, Magpul furniture. If you're unfamiliar with the Wylde chamber, research it. Don't think I'll ever do NATO5.56.

Last AR I built was this pistol. Less than a grand in it, and sold it for a little profit.

Glad you decided to go with a cool guy trigger instead of the mil-spec garbage.
