Got my upper and lower back from being anodized and laser etched. It's an 80% lower, so I am going to mill out the rest and build a pistol out of it. Completely nonsensical to have an AR pistol you say? Yeah, probably, but it sure will be fun to shoot.

For all the times the word sexy has been used in this thread THAT is the most fitting.

Shes hot, super fit, a skier, and likes guns. Damn. Only bummer is that quasi duckface in the pic, but I am willing to be if she gave me half a chance I could have her making a better face pretty quick. The girls with guns pics dont usually do a whole lot for me but damn, I want that.

Also, does that mini 14 have a bayonet? How else is it sticking in the ground? I am also surprised her bikini bottom can support that weight without sliding down. Were there any wardrobe malfunctions during the photoshoot?

Dunno, wasn't privileged enought to be there. Did invite her over to the house to pose with my collection though. My daughters said I was a creeper, whatever that means.

And a good skier to boot.

That's some quality concealed carry right there.

Speaking of which, I really gotta get around to taking a class. WI joins the other 48 sane states Nov 1st. Also gotta get around to working up suppressed loads for two rifles. And a sub-sonic load for one. Gotta punch out the toes a bit in my Krypton Pros as well.

    Check this out:

1/4 scale M1919 machine gun. .22lr, belt fed, full auto.

Also shot a SAW and an M16 with M203 grenade launcher. No live grenades tho, just the little smokies. I am not a full auto guy at all, but SAWs are fucking rad.

Still gotta punch out the toes of my Kryptons. Also gotta reload. I went through about 2200 rounds last weekend.

Stoked. Just bought a lever action 30-30--an old Marlin (late 50's?) built when they still used good walnut. It's in great shape and should make a perfect ranch gun. Damned 'yote's are harassing the sheep and I don't see them getting any nicer as the weather gets colder.

I'm going to keep it "stock," with iron sights and all. I might add a Williams peep as I've read good things and I like the range feature, but no scope. I need to be able to shoot at night.

Anyhow, I know it's not the coolest gun (certainly next to some of the specimens here) but I've always wanted a lever 30-30 and for $250, I couldn't really say no. And don't tell the GF.

    Marlin .30-30 > Boat paddle.

But, they've killed more deer in the US than probably all other guns combined. Good score at the right price.

I ran into a guy a few week ago in the woods. I was mtn biking and he was bear hunting. He had a short barreled Marlin in .45-70. It looked like a pretty capable gun

Is the Saiga 12 California-legal? Just talking about the regular 5-rd magazines. Seems with the trad stock and <10rd mags, it'd be fine...but they also outlawed .50BMG so who knows.

Thank you, Ken, for harshing my buzz. I know it's not a nice gun but it's fun as hell to shoot and I can hit a tall boy can repeatedly at 80 yards with iron sights. Good enough for me!

Is that one of the Marstar Norinco M-14's? Such a sweet rifle.

Not one of the Marstar ones but yeah, it's a Norc/polytech M14. Slowly going to USGI everything though. Have a USGI gas system and a NM oprod guide on the way, already have a National Match oprod spring guide installed, Springfield Armory brake, USGI fiberglass stock. Shot an honest to goodness 1.5 MOA 5 round group at 100m this afternoon. Hoping to tighten that up a bit more when I unitise the new gas sytem and install it. Kinda want to shorty it too. Hell I want a whole other rifle so I can have a shorty and a full length. These things are more addictive than crack...

I've owned a highly sniped-out version for 2 1/2 years. The barrel takes awhile to settle down, but after 200 rounds or so and working up a load mine will shoot sub MOA which is pretty good for a semi-auto. Be warned they are not light rifles. Mine with a Magpul PRS stock, big scope, bipod and suppressor probably weighs in at about 16-17 lbs. P Mags kick stock DPMS mags ass. The stock trigger is fairly heavy and creepy, but not anymore than most other non-$$$$$$ Ar-10s. It's easy enough to replace - I think I paid about $150 for the JP I've got in mine.

Hey, I've got one in the safe too. Mine's a .35 caliber. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the gun. Out to 200 yards, it does its job. Like I said, probably more deere killed with a .30-30 than all others put together.

That is one I don't own.

Had a Springfield M-14 for a while, but traded it toward a Thompson M1A1. Nice gun, but not fun on full auto. Thinking about picking up a Beretta 59 one of these days.

    Background check denial

Went to the gun show on Sunday to help a friend buy his first handgun. He found one he liked that fit his grubby meathooks, bartered, and settled on a price. But he was denied on the background check by BCI. I know they don't give reasons, but this guy has a clean record. I have my CCW so I don't have to go through it any more when buying guns, but wondering if anyone has any insight on why one would get denied? Particularly since he has no criminal record.

I thought maybe because he moves so much his info he gave them might not match what BCI has, but other than that I'm at a loss. Of course he was pretty bummed, mostly because I've got him addicted to shooting my guns and he was pretty excited about buying his first. He moved here from a state that doesn't recognize the 2A and was very anti before I introduced him to shooting.

Typically, at least here in TN, he can request the basis for the denial and file for a re-examination or an appeal. They have to tell him why he was denied.

If he has drug convictions or been through treatment, that may be a problem these days.
