This is so delusional I don't even know were to begin. Let's just say that gun owners only make up about 20%-30% of the population and vast majority of us aren't hoarding ammo and military grade hardware. IF the military is totally committed to putting down a revolt carried out by you and your heavily armed friends it would be an absolute slaughter.

Agreed, back to our regularly scheduled preparations for total societal breakdown after catastrophes like power grid crashes, pandemics, Zombie Apocalypse, and asteroid strikes hahaha. It's when there is NO military or government at all that being prepared to defend your resources from other external threats will be crucial.

Speaking of Browning Citoris (actually Lightning’s, but I digress) - my 20g Lightning was manufactured in Belgium around 1960.

Anyone know of a source where I can get more info? On line searches just lead me to the Japanese made versions.

My mom's looking for an air rifle to deal with squirrels. I know fuck all about em but after she tried to charge a break barrel one, them types ain't gonna fly. Range distance is <30 m. Thoughts on the CO2 or nitrogen powered varieties?

True story! When our hound dog got too old to stop a feral cat from coming in the doggie door we got the cat fixed and vaccinated. Up til then we had a bit of a rat problem. Took in the cat and no more rats. When hound dog crossed the rainbow bridge we got a rescue pit bull.. and no more feral cats in the yard, just "the boss" who came in through the doggie door to claim her throne a year earlier

Disclaimer as I have no experience whatsoever with them. But you might check out one of the Gamo air rifles as I hear good things about them. A lot depends on your budget, some are under $100. Convince her she needs a really good one so you can play with it.

Not much of a fan of rim fire for hunting. Shot a fall turkey last year square and watched it fly away. Found it 3 weeks later after considerable searching and much further away than I had expected. Haven’t had fly away with shotgun and was close enough at trigger pull for that to have been a much better option.

Will rimfire put them down - clearly yes - but less margin for error.

Little bit of range stoke -

This is the main rifle bay at the Jackson Hole Gun Club. The first berm is 100 yds, and we have steel to 600 yds. Benches are concrete and steel. we have propane radiant heaters that make the cold days that much more pleasant.
There's a 22 bay immediately to the left with a massive amount of steel targets. There are separate pistol and archery bays, as well as a 5-stand and trap setup. Membership dues are $150/yr for a family.

Public Service announcement. Palmetto State Armory has components to assemble an 18" 308 AR-10 for about $550. Built lower receiver is $200, upper is $350. Pretty decent deal for what it is. 20" ones sold out yesterday.

That is a pretty good deal, lot of .308 rifles are as cheap as they have ever been. Like to see the feed come down a bit also.
