Hearing protection, lol. Super sonic ammo is still pretty loud.
Maybe so, but a can reduces the sound enough that if my guys wear hearing protection when they train, they won't be deaf when they retire. Cans make a HUGE difference and it's silly to think that they're NFA controlled. For people who shoot a lot, it's a big deal.
Hey LS, you guys make a Kenai rig to fit the S&W 686 6"?

Buying a gun safe. Opinions wanted on electronic lock vs. combination lock ?
"Zee damn fat skis are ruining zee piste !" -Oscar Schevlin
"Hike up your skirt and grow a dick you fucking crybaby" -what Bunion said to Harry at the top of The Headwaters
Combo. Not a gun safe, but our electronic office safe's battery died, and nobody knows where the key is... A combo lock will outlast you, and always works.
Certain safes can be opened with a large enough rare earth magnet.

nice grips, custom?

Yes. Iron wood from a statue my dad had on his desk. Old Native American woman in Twin Falls, ID, who is no longer in the business. They burned up a couple blades making mine.
Smith model 60
Good range time this weekend
M1A shoots 1.35" groups open sights
PTR91 shoots 2" groups with the P308 scope, the rear diopter sight needs replaced.
The 686 .357 mag will ring steel at 100yds, with a rest.

Picked up this bitch earlier today. Ruger Redhawk, .44 magnum, 5.5" barrel. Passed on it initially, but realized a little later that she shoots .44 spl, too. No brainer. Serial # shows 1985 year-of-manufacture, but she's in beautiful condition- trigger isn't broken-in yet. Wheeeee!
Hey Leavenworth, you make a chest holster for one of these?
Your dog just ate an avocado!
Nice

Sweet. Yes, we sell a lot of chest holsters for that gun. Shoot me a pm, I can get you a coupon code for the website... that can be combined with the fathers day sale we have running at the moment.
Shot a PRS match today that was .22lr only. Didn't do too bad considering my .22 doesn't have anything beyond a simple reticle scope, so kentucky windage became important. Really fun, if you have a chance to shoot a match like that, do it.
Congrats. I have the same gun, and love it. There is a certain something about shooting paper targets at 150yds with a pistol, and hitting the target with such a large projectile that you can actually hear the paper rip.
Read up on Elmer Keith, the grandpappy of 44 loads and shooting.

Yup, I'm familiar with Elmer Keith's endeavors. Wow, never thought about 150 yards with a hand gun. Hell, I figure 50 is the furthest I'll ever try with this pistol. Now I need to find an old Ruger .44 carbine to go with this.

That'd be fun. My Dad has a late 60's Model 44 Deerstalker that I look forward to owning some day.
Start shooting at 50yds and you'll soon see how easy it is to score hits waaaay further out. Flat shooting gun + long ass sight radius = easy to hit.
My wife would probably call you a sissy for considering 44spl loads though
