I'd hit the grip texture with some sand paper, when I had an FNX9 it tore me up/caused my shirts to pill really badly. Ultimately ended up having it stippled to cut mellow out the aggressiveness. It was a good gun otherwise, wish I hadn't sold it.

As always if need a holster, pm me and I'll get you a discount.

    Shotty for home defense, hmm.

I'd go Mossberg 500 if you want a pump. Semi, Mossberg 930 isn't bad. The gold standard is a Bennelli M2. If you have a FNH fetish the SLP is a good gun too.

I'd buy one that has a top rail and mount a small red dot sight. Home defense could involve low light and traditional sights will be difficult to see.

    Full length magazine for sure.

I'd get a 200 lumen weapon light with a pressure switch. Bright enough for lighting a room and identifying, but not so bright to cause temporary light blindness.

    I hate you.

FedEx is supposedly delivering our strike offs today. I'll believe it when I see it.

Why when I can buy 5 80% kits and Harbor Freight mill for less than that?

My AR is DPMS upper and barrel, Double Star lower. It's a POS just good for abusing, but not super fun shooter.
Ruger can suck it. They are anti 30 rnd mag / anti ar15. They only make stuff by their own admission due to profitability.

double star lowers can be hit or miss per ar15.com but I never use them.
dpms uppers seem to be behind the curve constantly.
dpms lowers are fine. I run an sbr listed lower with a LWRC 10", sabre 5" with a pig and a psa 18' wylde upper. I can shrink down my pack using one lower.
Spikes lowers are common and cheap.

My m16 is a paws/oly lower. They are the cheapest due to olympic making finicky lowers. Mine is fixed and runs anything well now, most stuff can be fixed if you get a lemon.

Having made 80 % ar 15 lowers with a lathemaster/rong fu mill, don't. Unless you really want to spend a weekend and big money. The first one will suck and take forever. They do get way easier after the 3rd one. I've used it for steal stuff too like a swedish K, which those crumby harbor freights won't do.

Maybe do a psa build($500 + lower), bcm if you have more cash or jp/larue if you have way too much cash. If you plan on holding onto it forever do at least the bravo compnay level though.
Add a nice red dot (I like aimpoint over eotech but whatever you want) and be done.

Just received a pretty sweet gift: Savage 12 HS Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. She's heavy as shit and won't be a hunting gun but it doesn't get much more fun for long range shooting practice. Got a Sig Tango 5-24 MOA optic to throw on it. Pretty stoked.

Nice. I wish I would have gone 6.5 Creedmoor or .260 Remington instead of .308 for my bolt gun, but maybe next time.
Let us know how she shoots!

Kid in our sniper class this summer had a 6.5 all tricked out. Was hitting the car hood a mile away. Fna. I had my stock 700 maxed out at 1200 yds. Actually the scope turrets were maxed and I was holding over into the outside of the glass. So freaking fun. Amazing how huge a trajectory the bullet has at those ranges. Bang, have a snack................................poof goes the dust around the steel.

Yeah, I'm adding a 20moa ramp as the picitanny...helps with keeping the glass on the target at super long ranges.

That was performance with I a 20 MOA mount. Shoulda got a 30 or 40. Still fun but hitting a mile would have been funner.

Wonder if you guys heard about the actual Marine pistols that were for sale.
Decommissioned, and sold to the public. First time since WW2
These lettered as being in service with MARSOC, Special Forces, etc
Battle tested. All were carried, but not all saw combat. I would say one of them did.
There were 460 used 530 new. Close to 1000 in all.
I just copied and pasted from another forum.
Definite warhorse. Not sure if I will even clean..Just lube.
Don't believe I have seen these marks yet.
    The other one is fine
