Surf Lessons - Worth it?

Cito, I dunno WHERE you live but where I live there's plenny of swell to chase. Prob is...it usually is just closeout mush.I've surfed ALL winter looking for monster swell and for ME, it doesn't add up. On a kite I can rip waves ALL day, no paddling. Maybe a swin for the board here and there but no sitting in a lineup full of kids ready to throw elbows for the next wave. Unless it's perfect conditions I'd rather even windsurf or stand up paddleboard for waves. Take a look at the real innovators of board sports and see what they're using to catch waves. Paddling is like cross country skiing UPhill.Don't think you're such a purist cuz ya just paddle for waves.I'll post a pic of my Bear 9'2" big wave gun shaped by Billy Hamilton so you can tell me how big boards are for kooks and how I should get a thruster. Do you live in LA ?
