    Phish Phinished!

    (this just in...)

Phish breaks up with tour, new album approaching
    By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY
    AP Music Writer
NEW YORK (AP) -- Phish, the Vermont-based jam band whose legions
of dedicated fans made them one of the nation's top touring acts,
announced Tuesday that they were breaking up.
The surprise announcement came as the band prepared to release a
new album, "Undermind," on June 15 and embark on a summer tour,
which will kick off June 17 at Coney Island in Brooklyn, a borough
    of New York City.
Band leader Trey Anastasio made announcement on their Web site.
"Last Friday night, I got together with Mike, Page and Fish to
talk openly about the strong feelings I've been having that Phish
has run its course and that we should end it now while it's still
on a high note," he wrote.
The quartet will end their tour in Vermont.

I'm sure it's a petchuli-wering, trustafarian, hug-athon down at the bean, luckily I don't have to go by it anymore.

I hate Phish always have and will, don't really get the whole jam-band crap.

My heart pumps shit for those guys, really it does.

used to love phish & hit a bunch of their shows, demographic changed a lot & kidds begging for change for gas money to fill their new 4-runner to make it to the next show got old fast.

after the riot @ red rocks I never went back.

but hopefully this means Trey can devote time to the most underappreciated band ever,

May it all rot. C'mom people, Jerry's dead, phish sucks, don't panic, get a freaking life. Of course, it does keep all those freaks out of my pow stashes. Hmmmm, maybe they are cool. Yeah, that's it. They rule. Everyone out there, go on tour. You'll love it.

    Easy there.

I persay was never a large fan of phish, I was a deadhead and still am. Love em.

But there are some damn good jam bands out there, Leftover Salmon, The String Cheese Incedent to name a few.

I see a lot of talent in Phish, but separately. The artists need to move on to new projects with other people. I look forward to this change. I hope to see some great bands spin out of this.

I think it's funny how much you guys enjoy touting your hate.

From my perspective it's no more complicated than hating anything you don't understand and then ignorantly proclaiming it in terms not unlike racial epithets, which I know none of you espouse.

Tolerance and broadmindedness are admirable qualities of mature individuals. Grow up.

Leftover Panic, I enjoyed them both.
But the noodliness of Phish & SCI turn me off.
Actually all jam bands turn me off now. i gots some interest in the Mule still, but damn one man dies and the whole band goes to shit.

btw...the Mule with Allan Woody friggin rocked harder than any band ive ever seen.

I was always fearful that Phish would play some 35 minute mouth-jam thing and my friends would find me under a bench, in the fetal position, foaming at mouth, muttering its not real, its not real, its not real......

    Where's my mule?

I think my ears are still ringing from a show at the Ogden back when that venue dominated. The smellies were so confused.

Funniest part of this whole thing is we are all going off the word of an AP writer named NEKESA MUMBI MOODY.

Say it three times fast, I dare ya.

Edit: I don't hate anyone Pinman, just really don't care for their music that's all.

Too bad, so sad, bye bye. Take the fucking vacuum cleaner with you...

BTW - so what if Jerry's dead - so are Hendrix, SRV, John Lennon, Elvis, etc. Does their being breathing-impaired make the music any less vibrant?

Peace, Jerry. Thanks for the smiles.
