Tying flies is fun

...and I realize I really suck at it. Still learning, but I am getting the hang of it. I am tying up some Parachute Adam's right now.

Tying is a great excuse to drink to much at home, by yourself, on a weeknight! Congrats on switching from fly buyer to fly tyer.

Welcome to the club. WRT the para-adams, I find that using white foam doesn't affect the success rate of the fly, and is a hellava lot easier to tie than a hair post.

Yep - I'm using the white foam too. Partly because I am a novice and they are easier, but also because my dad bought me one of those "bug in a box" kits where it comes with everything you need to tie 12 flies of a certain pattern, you just need your own thread - they are great for learning because all the materials are included but you still have to tie them yourself.
