"We don't want to go skiing today because it's snowing."

Yes, that's what a ski-industry journalist told me today. I've been toadying these folks around for a week and today we were supposed to enjoy another day on the slopes. They call my cell as i'm getting ready in the parking lot and tell me they're going shopping then catching up on emails in their hotel room because of the weather.

so i had to go to work for fuks sake! and i'm looking out my office window and it's practically bluebird.

a co-worker who'd made a big deal out of some ski mission he'd planned for yesterday bagged out because "It's going to be snowy". Well, no shit. Mtns in winter = snowy. Yesterday ended up being pretty damned nice. I got in a great tour and skied some fun corn. Backoutboy got to sit in front of his confuser. Sissy.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

I've had that same thing happen a few times to me as well.

Had a large group of people showing up and they called it and account of snow. Is snow skiing not water skiing, cockgarage.

Even in the rain I think you're required to do 5 runs before quitting for weather related reasons.
Lightning doesn't count though.

Hey it's hard writing on those tiny little notepads in the wind. And the ink runs when they get wet.

which gun? actually, that would be criminal, then i would become a restricted person unable to own guns legally and then I would become a gun-control advocate to enusre my future victims are unarmed.

i won't name names. i think he's on this forum because we talked about how resort marketing folks are frequently lurking here, particularly when there is a death on the slopes, ownership change, etc, to get a "man on the street" perspecteive from a group of highly-volatile, gossip-mongering, know-it-alls.

seriously though, they are weak. they must not have watched Conan the Barbarian enough.

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women.

5" of fresh since 7 AM, then it got sunny, around 30º F high.
this guy writes about skiing for a living and ruint my day by making me work.
of course, he and his mrs. were all too happy to drink more free booze and eat extra desserts when they were obviously overserved. yet, when i said, "c'mon, it's going to be great", he tells me "well, we got two good days in. that's plenty"

What's your job, may I ask? And how does it involve a large group of powder hating booghzwah types. You can be coy and obtuse, I'll figure it out.

I guess I could understand for average city folk that go for one little ski vacation a year but someone in the industry…

Kinda pathetic…
