    Finally!!!

I was perusing the Kenda website and I noticed that they finally came out with a UST (and DTC BTW) Nevegal in a 2.35. Thankfuckinggod. This is the tire I've been dreaming of. Now if they would just list the damn weight on their website...

Sooooo...who wants to buy a set of barely used Nevegals that have a slight coating of porn latex...

I bet it's going to be heavy. Isn't the 2.1 version just over 800g?

    2.1 UST is 769±40g
    2.1 DTC is 609±32g
2.35 DTC folding bead is 698±37g
    2.35 Stick-E wire bead is 1190±69g

I went from the 2.35 wire bead to the 2.35 folding bead and noticed a HUGE improvement in weight and rolling resistance (which is partly due to tread compound also). Unfortunately, nothing I tried could get them to run tubeless. So I had to deal with pinchflatting again, which sucks ass. I absolutely love the Nevegal 2.35 for how it grips and how it rides, but it was either get the heavier tire to run tubeless or deal with pinchflats to save weight and roll faster. The tradeoffs sucked.

Now I should be able to have the best of both worlds. If I had to guess I'd say it'll come in around 850. We'll see. I can live with that though. Anything is better than the nearly 1200 gram behemoths I was running before on my trail bike.

Still, I have another pair of tires I'm going to give a whirl first. But I'm pretty damn stoked on this news.

UST = Universal System Tubeless (edit: might also be Univ Standard Tubeless)

DTC = Dual Tread Compound... think it's hard center knobs for rolling, and stick-e/soft outside knobs for cornering.

    ^ Yup.

Spider, they're 2.35 DTC folding beads. There is some gunk inside them from a failed attempt to run them tubeless, but it's not bad. I've been running them with tubes just fine...except for the pinchflats caused by my 230 pound ass combined with my license to suck. I can take pics if you like.

Price? $40 plus ship for the set?

hmmm, bummer, i just picked up some of the Specialized Eskar 2bliss in a 2.3. Pretty light for a tire than can be run tubeless at 700g with hi volume.

BTW, specialized has done away with UST from their entire lineup.

So, if you peruse their website, any of their 2Bliss tires can be run tubeless with sealant or with a tube.

Arty, I am out, a little steep for used IMHO.

BTW, I have been running these ghetto tubeless no problem, but maybe it has to do with me being a 145 lb pip squeak.
