    Ross Reel hook-up?

Anybody here have a Ross Reel hook-up? I just got a Flywater 2 (4-5-6 wt) and I will want an additional spool in the near future.

My dad bought me the reel, line and backing and I traded him a pair of skis. Not a bad deal, huh?

UPDATE... found spools for this reel for $39.95 at Sportsman's Warehouse (got mine at the Casper, Wyo. store).

I know there were a few of you looking for this model, but I can't remember who.

I am going to be in Casper in 3 weeks if anyone wants me to pick one up for them. PM me and we can work something out.

Well...... funny thing about this spool...

I got it home and popped it on my Flywater 2 and had a problem with it. It was slightly too narrow and the 2 pins do not reach the drag mechanism. On top of that, I have been having problems with my original spool in this reel skipping teeth every once in a while in drag as well.

    SO....

I contacted Ross last night, and they told the the Flywater series has been discontinued and they no longer have parts/replacements for them. I am sending my reel and spool in to them and they are giving me a full replacement with the equal version of the new Flyrise series. They are not due out until November, so I won't see my new reel until then.

I can still pick one up for you if you need it, but I had major issues with mine.

There is a hudge and I mean hudge difference in quality between the worldwide reels and the local ones. It's like comparing henkels.

sounds like maybe I should just wait until mine acts up and get the flyrise...then get an extra spool for it!
mtm: I'm assuming the flywater and flyrise are local?
