Macbook Display flickering

I've searched online and all the information I've come across is from at least a year ago...

The display on my core duo macbook started flickering about 2 weeks ago. I haven't noticed it related to load, screen brightness or anything else. Sometimes I don't realize that it isn't at full brightness (although its set there) until it flickers brighter. The display never disappears, but whites do not look so white and it can get a little annoying on the ol eyes.

Any one else having this issue or have updated info thats newer than a year? I know apple is aware of this because they locked a thread on their message board. My laptop is now out of warranty so I think I'm SOL.

If I wanted to sound like one of those annoying Mac owners I would tell you that you should have got a PC.

Try to re-calibrate the display?

Shouldn't be SOL, afaik Apple is happy to sell you more warranty anytime.

can you make it flicker or change by moving the screen a little ?Sometimes the ribbon cable to the screen in pc's can get flaky at the hinge from being opened & closed

ya I know its a mac but I bet its still a ribbon cable running to the display
