    Unhappy Elvin Jones passed away

Elvin Jones, a renowned drummer and member of the John Coltrane Quartet, died Tuesday in a New Jersey hospital of heart failure. He was 76. Jones' powerful, complex playing helped changed the role of the drummer in jazz groups and influenced a generation of rockers, including The Doors, the Grateful Dead and Santana

Its a shame, I'm listening to Love Supreme now, and Elvin will be missed.

bummer. I saw him like 2-3 years ago. He stood up and spoke and it sounded like he was pretty near death. All shaky and old sounding.
But then he absolutely killed it on the drums for 2 hours and I thought, what a badass.
    RIP
You know this dude is in heaven because anyone who played on A LOVE SUPREME has the ability to communicate directly with GOD.

    Great write up on him.
