    Tying booze and tunes?

Yeah, I know, this is a rip-off of 72Twenty's thread.

What do you listen to when tying flies? And, since drinking liquor goes hand-in-hand with wrapping materials around hooks...what's your drink of choice?

I've been stuck in the Crown or bourbon on rocks with a twist rocking out to some old Dead shows for a long time now. I need some new ideas.

    Good fishin'.

Well, I'm a newb to the tying scene, and I am still in ski waxing/tuning mode too, and I usually just have a beer or three while prepping skis. But I am liking the idea of having a more "sophisticated" beverage while tying flies.

Edit - as for music, I'll probably be listening to Chris LeDoux most of the time while tying flies.

I'm a Jameson on the rocks type for fly tying. As for music, kinda depends. Sometimes old country, Willie Nelson or Merle. Then sometimes I go with Marley or something more "summer", just depends on my mood.

Speaking of which, I need to get to tying. I've been a little behind this winter.

Ok, I'm tying for the fly swap, and right now I think I found a pretty damn good combination of booze and tunes (at least for my current mood and for woolly buggers).

Coors Light and Catherine Wheel. The combo just seems to work right now.

Last night I was drinking the same and listening to an old Panic show.

BTW, the song Fripp by Catherine Wheel is on right now:

    There's a shark shaped fin
In the water of my dreams
An alligator screams from the depths there
    I'd swim with you there
I'd swim with you there, yeah yeah

^^^ good tunes for a beer buzz and tying some bushies.

Well, I'm a cheap drunk. Either Beam on the rocks or Svedka and monster.

For tunes lately, I've been dipping into my old skool punk rock section and listening to Link 80 and Screeching Weasel.

Makers on the rocks, some WSP or Dead playing in the background.

But with the fumes from the Sotftex for Mushmouths, you don't really even need the booze.

Been listening to Greg Brown the past few sessions. Mixed it up with some gin & tonics.

Had the oppurtunity to tie listening to the recorded red sox game last night. Baseball's a little slow sometimes, so its nice just to listen and then look up for the big plays and to rest the eyes. I like a good beer while I tie. I am really into the session beer from full sail right now. The only hard liqour I like is tequila, which just seem to go right with tying for some reason (even the patron doesn't seem classy enough, I'll to try it though.

Pretty generic right now... I am drinking a Fat Tire, listening to a folk music radio station and tying streamers/buggers and worms for my trip to the Platte in a couple weeks.

I listen to baseball, watch tv with one eye, listen to books on tape, stream NPR, and drink whatever is in the fridge
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care

I'm breaking out the vice for the first time in a long while tonight. No tune but the Fall Classic is hard to beat!
