Thanks for the note man! That livens up an otherwise dull morning in the office

Surfing is as good as skiing, and you've seen why. Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to visit. I was in Tamarindo for 2 weeks last Sep. The beach breaks are nice and mellow up there too. "Witch's Rock Surf Camp" is the joint where I stayed. Check them out and look for Joe (the guy who runs it). They have a good surf school if you're back in the area.

Jaco is a party town with lots of hot tourist chicks. This time of year there's a decent supply of South swells but the area there, Hermosa, is a pounding beachbreak, not really beginner-friendly. Jaco beach is smaller and more mellow.

I'd recommend Tamarindo as a more beginner-friendly place.
