I guess everyone else who voted for 4-26/27 is also retarded. If the date was THAT big of a deal, more people would have spoken out. But not the case. If you feel so inclined, start a "CO Mini Part II for those keeping it real in May with extra long pond skimming, blue groomers, tons of PBR, and bikini contest" rollcall thread.

In my short time out here, it certainly seems the number of mags that meet up to go skiing has grown considerably. I have a feeling that once May hits, there were be weekly mini's -- maybe not as rowdy, maybe not as large scaled and promoted, and maybe not the full overnight let's headbang and throw shit in the fire type of event -- but I bet the willingness to ski hard for a few laps and drink from noon on will be high until A-Basin closes.

I seem to recall in 06 skiing Buffalo one day, partying and skiing with some mags that afternoon, partying pretty late that night, having some random chick sleep in the back of my pickup that night, and skiing the Christo couloir the next day. There's plenty of skiing to be had. But, CAIC/lbd/Telemike gets my vote. I'll probably head over to the basin after that.

Colorado needs to step it up to contend in the Long Board internetnationals.

How to obtain long boards for long board day:

1. Talk to your skiing buddies, a lot of them will have at least one pair hiding out somewhere
2. Call around to ski shops, lots of them sell used
3. Swing by a thrift store
4. Garage Sales - you should've looked over the weekend but there's one final Friday sale day coming up.
5. Maggot borrow: mine the local and extended collective for pairs. It's Tuesday and if you move quickly you can probably get a pair shipped for ~30-40 on loan from a W. Coast LBD Hub (ship back via the slow boat for <20). Or sack up to telemark, there'll be a wide array of tele-enabled LBs at LBD, the bindings are much easier to adjust.

Please feel free to add any add'l tips, especially our W.Coast brethren that've had longer to work at it.

on a side note. has anything been settled with the beer/alcohol? i can pitch in and get a huge tub o' beer for $50. it's about 300 beers give or a take a few. but, i would need someone else in the denver area to help go get it and load it up. calling NP, rideski, .....
