Ok, looks like 4/26-27 is the best time, so it gets my vote as well.

You tele-hippies can harvest corn in the AM and then come over to the basin....if you have never been to a mini before the skiing usually last until 1pm at the latest, and the drinking continues until around 3am or when you pass out or when the punk rocker brawl starts or when whole trees are being dragged into the fire.....

i will show up at the basin any day after alta closing to ski and/or drink beer. so i guess i'm saying i don't care and that this post is just a worthless waste of space. oh, except that whenever it is I expect Gosey to whip up some of that gumbo.

pow_prophet, you're running out of time to ski alta. how bout you take the train out here, catch closing weekend, and ride back to CO with me?

Oky doke, it looks like 26th/27th. I'll vote for it as well (I've got to come out and make use of that pesky A-basin pass some more.)

Some serious swing notwithstanding, 26/27 it is. Sweet.

I made my first batch of from-scratch jambalaya tonight. It turned out mighty fine. Should have that shit perfected after another batch or so. You guys want that, or gumbo? Jambalaya is probably more portable cuz it's not all soupy (for those of you who don't know, jambalaya is a rice dish with spicy sausage, chicken, and veggies).

    Thoughts?

Jambalaya for sure. I have a nice Crock Pot I can donate for heating purposes if need be.

Does anyone have a small generator? I would like to bring up a real deal stereo system so we don't have to run any cars/trucks for audio.

I have one SMALL one that is probally to small depending on how much power said stereo will draw. I'll ask a couple other contractors if they have a smallish generator. Most are way too big though. If all else fails one could always be rented. Get a couple guys to chip in on that instead of beer/food and we would be set.

I am in as well. I'm buying tickets out there tonight. I'm hoping to catch a ride from Boulder to A-Basin Saturday and Sunday. I'm sure that plenty of people should be heading up.

Having this in April = retarded!

Why not May? This thing is about drinking, not how much terrain is open. I'd rather have a better chance for good weather than have more terrain open.

The first CO Mini was in 2004. The CO Mini started out as a get together for SKIING maggots. There weren't very many of us back then. We partied too.

It only became purely a party scene recently because A-Basin's pussified terrain policies meant that there was nothing better than a blue groomer to ski. Well, if you go to the Basin and all you get is Keystone blues, what else can you do but get completely hammered and not ski? Fuck, we don't have to go to a ski resort to have a drinking party.

We are skiers. This needs to be about skiing AND drinking.

What about pond skimming? That's really what we need! An even better case for Mid-May.

the open terrain is bounded only by the imagination. instead of looking outside the CLOSED ropes, look inside to the stream channels, rock jibs, mud straightlines, and puddle/pond skims. try that box in the park, throw that 3 you only throw on the nicest of corn days, hell, may at the basin pretty much kicks ass!

(however, late april usually means pow.)

Other than the conflict with the Corn Harvest, I fail to see how these dates--that is, having more terrain available--are retarded...

Can we have a real poll for the dates?

What, we've had like (8) people vote for the 26th. We need more votes.

And what's with the two dates? We've done that before and nobody shows up the next day. Just pick one day.

In the past it's been in May:

    ‘04’ Mini Summit – May 8th
    ‘05’ Mini Summit – May 14th
    ‘06’ Mini Summit – April 29th
    '07' Mini Summit - May 12th
