TR: Avy 2 class - The Canyons

Wow, what a great class. Came away with a new way to look at stuff.
Jake Hutchinson, Tom Kimbrough, Rick Wyatt, and Rod Newcomb and the AAI are top notch. Highlights for me were the strength->energy-> Structure model, extended column test, fracture propagation test, lemons/structure, near surface facets, and forecasting deep slabs over facets.

was this today? if it was, were you in the huge group off the backside of dutches? If yes, myself and soul_skier skinned by your guys.

On a side note, off the top of big mac an avy class left a snow pit about 10m wide completely uncovered...i almost broke my neck skiing into it.

I took Avi 1 in Jan. with these guys. I agree; all are top notch. Jake is a REALLY good dude who heads up the ski patrol here. I always try to convince him to log on here.
M., I'm surprised I didn't run into you guys. Today, I took the wife and kids up to the ridge and down Dutches. My 8 year old thought that he was really cool when wearing a beacon. Of course, I sent him 1st.
Snow up there was nice, today.
I hope to see you guys around during the next few weeks. I'm up on the 9s just about everyday, and spend a lot of time on the 9s/Square shoulder, Dutches and Easter. Drop by for a beer anytime.
