I now have 4 days on my 186cm Line Prophet 100s mounted at -1.9cm with ninja FKS 155s. I'm 5'11" and 165lbs w gear, former racer, although I was never that great.
All of the 4 days were in Fernie in really varied conditions. I sold my 185cm blowers and bought these. I was looking for a ski that was a little more versatile to use as an everyday ski in Fernie. Of my days on these skis 3 of them were typical March ski days; hard and icy in the morning, soft and slushy in the afternoon. The other of the 4 days was a nice 20cm Tuesday with nobody on the hill.
Groomed: I ready many reviews before buying these skis or I was expecting them to perform well on the corduroy, but I was still surprised at how well they carve. They are quite turney and really like to be on edge, but their lightweight and minimal camber makes them very easy to pivot turns if you need to dump speed. The Prophets' sidecut and weight gives them the edge over the Blowers in these conditions.
Powder: The 'powder' I am reviewing these in was only 20cms, but thanks to the hill being empty on Tuesday I had a good 3 hours of fresh tracks before I had to leave for work. The 100s performed well in these conditions, but not amazingly well. Thanks again to their weight and wide tips they float well and are really easy to turn, however, my Blowers were definitely better in powder thanks to their wider platform and longer tip.
Crud: I have had the 100s through heavy and soft crud on a couple of occasions. They performed admirably in the crud but I found that the they were not as stable as my Blowers in the same conditions. I do not know if it is that were not stiff enough or just much lighter than I am used to. After spending a few days on them I am pretty sure it is the latter, but it will take a little longer to know for sure.
Overall these skis kick ass. I am very happy with the move from Blowers to Prophets. I was looking for a more versatile ski that I could ski everywhere and I definitely got that. This was a great purchase and I have not regretted it for a second. I am really happy with the mount where it is. The skis are still very easy to toss around and the extra tip helps with the crud and pow.
The Prophet 130s I just bought will get used for 15cm plus days and the 100s will be used for most everything else. I have some 178cm Jet Fuels will go from my 10cm and less ski to my hard-snow and crud-busting ski or my next-to-sell ski.
