    TGR Stoke feed

I am building a feed of the threads here that represent pure, unadulterated stoke.

    Here's the feed:
    http://del.icio.us/rss/stevetursi/stoke

And for those of you who don't use RSS readers, but want to bookmark it, here's the plain old web site:
    http://del.icio.us/stevetursi/stoke

Call it a content discovery aide, call it a tool to reduce the signal to noise ratio, or just call it a useful time saver for people searching for stoke.

To have a useful amount of content, I went back and started on February 1st and have gone through over 1300 threads so far - and found about 100 "stoke threads." These include mostly TRs or things titled "xxx did not suck today." I'm going to continue up to today, and then monitor the forums and add more stoke as it comes.

Let me know what you think.

Holy stoke, that's all from 2008! The stoke is so thickly condensed, it's like shooting maple syrup. Way to get after it!

I don't like it. When I click on one through the feed, it doesn't remember I am logged in via another tab in my browser and shows the old vBulletin skin. Nice for the RSS feature but ultimately, as an archive I think coming directly from this site would be ideal for the reasons I mentioned above.

    FWIW my $0.02

I think your browser settings are screwed up.

Alternatively, perhaps TGR's current web changes are screwing things up. (I've had to log in a bunch of times in the last 24 hours.. as though my cookies were deleted. which they weren't.)

Either way, your experience isn't typical.

well all I am saying is, it is a great idea if it works the way I suggested. Right now it doesn't work that way (my browser settings are fine unless it is FF3beta fuxing things up) so I don't like it.

Hands raised if they can open the link from this page into a different tab, click on a TR from that tab and see if you are autologged in for that TR tab? When I open a TR from delicious the site does not autolog me in which this site ALWAYS does when I open it alone.

    works for me.

Just checked. clicked open page in new tab, from del.icio.us, in both IE and firefox, and I was still logged in.
On my other computers, it has always worked the same way. in every browser. In every use case I've ever thought to try. without exception. including now.

Like I said, your experience is a-typical, and probably related to some setting on your box.

Do you have any idea what I could change to get the desired effect? I am stumped. I have never had an issue with this site or any other for that matter like this. weird.

so if it works for everyone else, awesome.

sorry, maybe if i was at your pc i'd take a look. but as a rule, i try to avoid desktop support like the plague.

if you've ever had it as a job, you would too. (tech support for an ISP was my first "real" job out of highschool.. hated every minute of it.)

Must be the new theme/skin I am using... I just noticed it happened with another thread. Seems that it is defaulting to the standard TGR theme and not logging me in.

weird, so enough cunting up this thread. Good work (lots of it).

    free bump tho

Well that's because even though they both resolve to the same location, your browser sees www.tetongravity.com as a different site from tetongravity.com. And to maintain the illusion of browser security we all like to feel like we have, one site can't see the cookies of the other.

The solution is to update your bookmarks, habits, links, or whatever it is you use to visit tetongravity.com to get you to www.tetongravity.com instead, such that when you come here, you typically visit the www variety.

Or, just log into the www site once to establish that cookie and you'll remain logged in until it expires (or until tgr somehow resets all cookies like they did yesterday, causing us all to log back in.)
