At my latitude we are just about at 12 and 12 again. With DST the sun now starts to go down around 6:45-7:15pm now. Sunrise around 7am. Ffrom this point on we gain about 5 minutes of light a day. In another month it will be getting dark around 8ish and in two aroun 10:30ish. The circadian rthyms start going apeshit this time of year. BUT, when the Avi danger is low (was called at Extreme/High this weekend - so no skiing this weekend) there is GREAT spring/corn/hero skiing.

Did drop the kayaks in the water today though. Time to start thinking about paddles vs. poles right about now. Biking is kinda too much for me now, but the sea kayaking and is freaking GREAT! And there was a small family group of Orcas spooted today, so I am hoping they will be around tomorrow and I can paddle around them.

I also always enjoy the change to additional sunlight in the evening... Though tomorrow will find which of your electronics/appliances have built-in code timed to change the date on the old standard change date, not the new recently approved change date.

Also, the saying is "Spring Forward, Fall Back".

****EDIT: Just watched my computer clock adjust for the change... Went from 1:59 AM to 2:59 AM about 3 seconds before it changed to 3:00 AM. (Can't post new without changing my 1K post count, want to let it sit a day or so at that.)

If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

Here's my chance to remind everyone that it's Daylight Saving Time, not Daylight Savings Time. The idea is you're saving daylight. Not exactly sure how, but whatever.

You're saving daylight for the evening, when most people can actually take advantage of it.

That sounds like a good explanation to me.

me: "I'll be in well after 9"

on-the-ball-co-worker: "Uh, dude, it's already well after 9"

I got good'n'drunk last night and slept an hour. I hate daylight saving time. Alaska doesn't need it.

Yeah, I slept in late today too. That's okay though 'cause now I've got an extra hour of daylight to get things done.

Next on the list - drink a cup of coffee.

Yes, I am having that same kind of productive day. Drank a bit last night, woke up around 10:30 (well, 11:30 - forgot to set the clocks last night), now it is mindless internet, hot tea, and debating if I should shovel off the decks from the fresh snow last night.

    Good times.

I didn't drink a thing last night (first time in a while for that), got up at 8:00, cooked up some bacon 'n' eggs, cleaned up around the house, worked out, and I still feel crappy. I might as well have gotten hammered and slept in.

Love that it's lighter later in the evenings, but feeding the horses in the dark sucked this morning. It always takes me about a week to adjust to the hour switch, both fall and spring throws me off. I think Arizona has the right idea...

In general I like DST, but I think the spring forward is a tad early now. Hell, it's not even officially spring until the 20th! It was just getting to the point where it was getting light when I drove to work in the morning. Now it's pitch black again.

    You people are nuts.
You wann get up earlier? Fine! Be my guest. Just don't force this socialist worker crap down my throat when I'd rather be snoozing.

DST sucks and I'm going to track down the fucking legislators that implemented this dumbass thing even earlier this year and blast Karen Carpenter at their houses at 4 am:
