Many competitors do off axis airs all the time. Even at the Jr level, there is a bunch of people doing cork 7's, d-spins, etc.

Check out skidebosses for some world cup mogul. Here is David Babic doing a d-spin on the bottom air. In this run, the guy did a d-spin trucker. That's an interesting air I hadn't seen before. This past weekend a guy was doing a similar air in the mogul jr olympics.
