New Lens: Filter advice

So, I'm gonna drop some coin on a Nikon 18-200 DX VR lens for my D70s. I'm doing an AK trip and I want to walk away with some good shit. My question is: for shooting on a bluebird day in AK (think above treeline), what kind of filter do I really want to have on there?

I'm gonna get a UV just to keep the glass safe regardless, but should I have anything else for shooting skiing in an all white environment?

A polarizer would be fun.

Something I've realized recently with buying some filters for my video camera.

GET GOOD GLASS. You've got a badass camera with a big badass lens, don't take away anything that you don't have to. I bought a cheap tiffen uv filter and it kills the image compared to what the stock lens on my camera puts out.

Spend the money on a multicoated B&W or comparable filter.....whatever it is

^^^2nded. Don't cheap out on a filter... it's not something you should try to "save money" on.
