Here ~ Some pics. I don't think the pics do them justice, as the ones I saw were an EASY 2 1/2" - 3" long.

    By-the-by:

    Cicada Stir-Fry Ingredients:
minced onion, coriander (cilantro), fresh gingerroot
sliced carrots, chopped cauliflower and/or broccoli
water chestnuts and/or other vegetables of your choice
    bean sprouts and snow peas
    blanched, teneral cicadas
In a wok or other suitable pan, heat a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add ingredients in the order listed above when those in the most recent addition are partially cooked. Serve over whole-grain (“brown”) rice and add soy sauce to taste.

"Mormon" Crickets? Man, those kids on Mission have gotten good....

    Ice,

MD9 has his reasons for a full-face Helmet - I have mine. I hit one riding home yesterday at about 40mph. The fucker almost covered the whole shield! I guess I'll be wearing the full leathers and sweating my ass off a while longer.

Roo - aiiight. I say dumb shit every now and then... My point was that this area is very 'buggy" in a normal year - especially compared to higher elevations like CO and UT.

I think there should be a different hatch coming in 3-4 years. Although each brood only hatches every 17 years, there are 3 or 4 different broods so really the fuckers hatch about 4 years or so. This WAS supposed to be the motherlode brrod but it didn't seem any bigger than normal to me.
I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.
