Where are all the tech heads on here.

Google it. I might as well go into the first shop and buy some cheap bendy, slow to assemble one, as that is all the shop stocks. (I hope it is not you I am trying to rescue this time next week)

    Google best probe site:http://tetongravity.com/forums/

You fucking jong. And there is no way a person who has never owned a probe would be skiing avalanche terrain with me in a week.

Setting aside the debate about length, my current favorite is (having owned many different models, although admittedly not the latest BD or G3 models) the BCA Carbon 260:

I'm a big fan of the Black Diamond Guide 300 Probe - 300cm with 1cm marking gradations. Not the lightest, but durable and multi-functional.

BCA Carbon 260. You can throw it out and lock it in about a second, and it has 1cm markings

I've just bought the bd 320cm quick connect, yet seam to be more impresed with the all canadian G3 probes Nice's and solid. The BD's good though..

    Third...

Also, this Winter I got a chance to play with one of these...

It's only 2.25m but I was able to go from pinpoint with the beacon to a direct strike with the probe receiver in seconds.
