    Canon Pixma Pro9000

I just purchased a 40D and noticed the $200 rebate if I buy a Pixma Pro9000 as well. I do most of my printing at Costco and have never really been that psyched, even using their printer profiles. I think the Pro9000 for $245 (retail minus rebate) might be just what the doctor ordered. Anyone have any experience with this bad boy? (All online reviews are generally positive.)

That's a couple generations newer (and thus better) than my S9000, which is a very good printer. You can't go wrong with it.

I have the Canon iP4000R and it rocks, especially on Photo Paper Pro. Chugs through ink rather quickly however, so get a good line on cartridges - that shit gets expensive. My wife has a refill service for her work printers and their inks are to my eye as good as the original Canon inks. I'll try to find out who she uses if you're interested.

Been very happy with mine, picked it up with a similar offer. For the price the convenience of being able to quickly generate a high quality print at up 13x19 at home is nice. The main downside is it has a large footprint, so if you don't anticipate printing many large prints and are short on space it's probably overkill.

There's an InkSpot near here that she sends pre-paid envelopes full of empty cartridges to, and they refill them and return them. Seems they have no website and that it's a National Franchise (I found www.inkspotnh.com for example in New Hampshire)

She also recommends Staples' ink-refilling service.
