Last week I went to Alta. Here's a TR.
So we spent 5.5 days skiing the best snow on earth. Me, my little bro, and his best friend all rolled together in what became one of the best ski trips I've ever taken.
First day, Monday Feb 18
Quick story:
So we're at Supreme at Alta. We get to the top and say hello to Dave Garcia (a liftie from our neighboring town who's been living at Alta for 5 years now. He's the shit).. We're talking for a while; it's been a year since we've seen him, and we get the info as to where would be some nice little zones to go ski some pow.
When we're done talking, I turn around and see a steezy motherfucker (decked out in the sickest gear ever) on a sit-ski. The person is with 4 other shredders, and they have a sled too. Marc Andre, I think to myself.
I get Dave from the booth and we all consult (me, dave, mark, and pete)... Dave says that Marc comes around once in a while, Pete (lil bro), Mark (friend), and I sack up and approach Marc.
Marc is a hero to me because of both his incredible ski segments and the music he makes. I had never met him before, but he puts out such a positive vibe it's incredibly hard not to like the guy. Well, it turns out that it is Marc and him and his crew are about to go shred some backcountry.
We all talk for about 5 minutes and then head off to let them do their thing.
At the end of the day, we're all hanging out on the deck, when the crew comes down. They start ordering mad drinks, and Petey (lil bro) sacks up and goes and asks Marc for a picture. Marc, being Marc, loves the idea.
Pictures were taken, discussions were had, and our first day back at Alta for the 08 season was definately one of the most memorable days skiing I will ever have, much thanks due to Marc Andre: an inspiration both in the ski world and musically, as well as just a flat out great guy

Well, there was skiing to be done also. We didn't take many pictures on Monday, but here are a few (bit blurry, quality of pics will get better as TR goes on)

Tuesday February 19th
Admittedly, Monday was a weak day for pictures, Tuesday wasn't much better
Through his connections at Merryl Lynch(sp), Mr. Brewer was able to get a hold of Sid Jenson, legendary Alta instructor and Guide for the day. We skied mad shit off the backside- from Gunsight to Greely to everything else. It was a great time.
Us and Sid:
3 of us on top of High Rustler. It got hot
Wednesday February 20th
We started realizing that we were at Alta and not taking any pictures. The falling snow sort of got us into gear as well

In all honesty, the first half of that TR might have been a waste of your time. Our second to last day was super though

We had a patroller show us where to go... I broke the boot pack, and he dropped in first to "make sure it was safe" because we were technically out of bounds. Well, it was dope. Me:

Saturday February 23
Our flight saturday was hella early- 2 pm. Ski until 11:15, then get the frig outta there. The quality of the pics were not so good, so we convinced Mr. Brewer to follow us around with his 200d for some parting shots.
We were the 4-8 people respectively down the Ballroom, unfortunately the snow was too deep and too good to stop with pics.
Then we hit up the cat
*warning*- pictures of actual quality forthcoming
Me skiin some pow pow

Then we had a 3-some- Pete Me Mark

Well, that's the end of my first TR. It was alot of fun spending 45 minutes making it. I hope it puts a smile on some of your faces. I really wish I could have made it to Magic Mtn today.
Aloha
Phil
