I drove up to Snowbird at about noon today. It took forever to find a parking spot. We finally found a great spot along Who Dunnit on the Alta bypass road. Next to this elusive spot sat a white Dodge Dakota Sport. There were a few guys sitting in the box of the truck just hanging out. When we tried to pull into the spot, some guy runs up to my car and motions for me to roll down the window. Then he tells me (with an attitude) that we can't park there because his friend had to run some errands but will be right back. But it was OK because his friends "are from out of state and it's their first day skiing." I looked at him like he was crazy, and he stated many times, "I'm not joking, you guys can wait here and see when they come back." We should have just pulled in and told them where to go, but I'm pretty sure my car would have been messed with. As we drove away, this douche bag walks back to his buddys in the truck and appears to be bragging that he got us to leave. We drove around a while longer and finally ended up parking much farther away. Normally, I would have just let it go, but this guy was one of the biggest assholes I've encountered in a long time and there were no decent parking spots available.
Is it acceptable to hold parking spots for your buddys? I know there's been debates about holding spots in the lift line, but this seemed ridiculous to me. I'd like to get some opinions on this. If everybody agrees that this guy was out of line, I'll post the pictures I snapped of his truck.
