    Stanley Slide Path (CO)

Anyone skied it (or even driven past it) recently? Is there any snow left?

I know it's not exactly the most remote backcountry destination but it tempts me every time I drive over the pass. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

^ Bump. I'll give it one more shot. Anyone? Is a ski descent tommorrow feasible or would I need my grass skis?

Unfortunately there's not a lot of people here on the weekend. I have no beta for you. But good luck with it!

Haven't been over there in a couple of weeks. The Stanley slide path is south aspect, so I'd figure its very thin to melted out. But, there was 5-7" of new snow 2 days ago......

Give us a report on Monday.

    Cheers,

Here's the report: a little snow left near the top but mostly it's bone dry.

There was, however, snow on the more easterly aspects right around the corner from the slide path. My wife and I began hiking with those shots as our goal. Due to a navigational error (I'm dumb) we didn't exactly achieve our goal. Instead we skied some low angle corn just above tree line, which was actually really fun. Then we picked our way through rocks, bushes, logs, and slush through the trees back to the car.

As a backcountry JONG, any time I can make turns away from the lift-served it's a fun experience. Still, I know today could've been better.
