    Alpine,

You aren't even original enough to do anything but parrot the "narcissit" thing started by Jer. You are now acting as sycophant to Jer, hoping to get the school yard kids to circle the wagons around sppok during recess.

You really are a pathetic, worthless piece of uncaring shit.

Your stance of "kill the brown people, take their oil, and give me a big-ass flat screen tv, 'cause like, I'm 'Murican dang it and I deserve it" is as distasteful and immoral as could be.

As I have said before, it is you and your type who are responsible for the decay and decline of the US. You have deluded yourself and your party-line, but you are on the way out the door. You guys have screwed it up long enough, and now you will get to sit the next one out, moping and talking vile while the country repairs itself and you lose your market share.

What do you mean by "i can't feel too bad about things"? What things do you "feel bad" about? Why do you think you "feel bad"?

Do you feel that Crass, Blurred, AJ/YSE and myself are conspiring against you? Do you feel unfairly persecuted?

And yet, here you are, still following the thread and still contributing. Does your hypocrisy ever keep you up at night.

Oh yes, your blog sucks. It is self indulgent and nothing more than cyber-masturbations.

Um, it's his blog, I'm pretty sure he's allowed to be self-indulgent in it.

Don't like it, don't read it.

Do you think Nanuq shakes like Michael J. Fox when he reads my posts?

Although I can't and won't speak for Blurred, I do know that I'm following this thread for entertainment, not to actually "contribute" anything. I manage (with as little effort possible) to get spook to continue to type out long-winded soliloquies about.....whatever the hell it is he's trying to prove. I'm pretty sure that Blurred, by evoking both yours and spooks name, is running the interweb version of a dropper combo. At least that would be my motivation for doing so.

    Pretty spot on.

Funny how Nanuq the shake, and spook the kook actually think people "learn" from their "contributions". I'm just here for the entertainment of seeing people get all butthurt on a interwebz message board. That's the real fun....there's a reason drama threads go on for pages around here, that's the real entertainment.

If I wanted to get learned, I can research shit myself from unbiased sources without the help from tools like nanuq, spook, and DW.

Spook, not to be a dick but maybe you should consider moving to another country? Seriously. It doesn't seem like you like the US or anything it does. I have my issues with this country but ultimately I still think this is the best place in the world to live.

    Adolph,

I have to disagree with you on that way of thinking. The "Love it or Leave it" thing is just bad thinking. If everyone who had a problem wth the ccountry, left or right, emmigrated the USA would be nothing but a bunch of crickets chirping in the dark. No, the thing to do is fight, and work for the improvment of this very broken country.

As for the "best country in the world" thing, that is your subjective opinion, and you have a right to the opinion. That said, not all opinions are equal. The USA is a broken, and fucked up place. I think it is on the brink of "the point of no return" in its downward spiral and decay. And I have fought and done as much as possible to try and make it a better place through political activism, being involved in local issues and politics, and trying to shed light on issues which need addressing.

BUT, I am at a point where if things do not start turning around, I will leave the country and not look back. I have already begun the emmigration process to another country and am trying to get all my "ducks in a row" should that option have to take place.

I love Alaska, the land and wilds, and that is really the only reason I have remained in this country for so long. But even that draw to the wilds and beauty is waning in comparison to what is happening in the USA. The facts are, this is not the country I grew up in. Something happened and changed and it has become a bizarre, violent and flawed place.

Good points and I agree. It just seems like at some point if you find issue with nearly everything the US does that maybe it's time to find a new place to live. After Bush won his second term I seriously considered getting out of the US. In the end I decided to stick around and try to effect some change here. Hopefully things get better in the US soon.

I can't believe I'm defending Assbush, but here goes:

I don't think he's asking spook to "love it or leave it". Spook has a huge problem with the US (actually, I think it's more like he has a huge problem with people in general). You say the US is in a downward spiral (and I have to agree with you), but I don't think a guy like spook would have been happy with the US at anytime since 1776. Guys like spook don't want to "fix" the country, they want to change it into something entirely different.

The sad thing is spook could move to Venezuela or Norway or Japan or Spain and within 6 months he'd be just as pissed about that country's government/society. With spook it's not really the outside world that's the real problem, it's the inside world.

I completely agree with you Jer in saying that Spook should definitely just shoot himself in the head.

    Jer,

Well I guess we do agree on some things - the US in a downward spiral - but I don't agree about spook. Also, I am not thinking you are qualified to be an internet shrink and try to crawl into spook's head. Spook is just more literate in his approach and he seems to be suggesting that we need to change policies here in the US for POSITIVE change. Wow, how radical is that?

I don't know spook and I certainly don't know what's going on in his brain, but he at least is taking the time to make his point, and has also made some suggestions as to what he thinks would be better in the governance of this country. What have you done Jer? Stirred the shit-pot and then sat back to watch the fight? From where I am sitting, spook is coming across as the bigger man here.

First - you're right. I'm probably not qualified to be an internet shrink. But that doesn't stop me from getting into spook's head. As for the shit-stirring - it took you this long to figure that out? Wow, you sure are perceptive. Lastly - I'm in this for the entertainment value and that's it. I truely don't care what you or anyone else thinks of me. Unlike spook (or, I believe, yourself), I'm not trying to dazzle anyone with my superior intellect. Nor am I trying to change the world by posting about it on an interweb ski forum.

I'd also like to say you're lots of fun.

The One Candidate Worth Our Vote
Nader the Best Antidote to American Imperialism

    By KATHLEEN and BILL CHRISTISON
    ...
He made one reference last year to Palestinian suffering, was immediately dumped on by Jewish leaders, and has since said nothing honest about the occupation -- not even expressing support for the two-state solution.
    ...
Some statements are just too easy to debunk. I went to Obama's website and found this in about 30 seconds.

"Work towards Two States Living Side by Side in Peace and Security: Barack Obama believes in working towards a two-state solution, with both states living side by side in peace and security. Obama is a cosponsor of
the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006....."

There's more, but you'll have to do your own research.
    ................

so i wrote the christisons, and pointed out obama's website with links and my take. this was their response, which i asked if i could forward:

    Hi, [spook--haha---cia insider joke],

We were, frankly, not aware of Obama's position on two states posted on his website, but we would still basically stick with our statement about his failure to support two states.

Putting something on a website but never talking about it openly, even when asked about the Middle East in debates and even when talking about his Israel position to Jewish groups, is like having no position at all on the two-state issue.

And, as you note, the whole thing in any case is put in terms of what good this will do to Israel. Two states is Israel's official position too, but the Palestinian state that Israel would permit (and that only under pressure) would not be viable because it would be broken into multiple pieces and would only include about half of the West Bank.

In reality, you can't mollify the leadership of Jewish organizations in this country by supporting two states, because that leadership is rightwing for the most part and considers any support for Palestinian statehood as anti-Israeli.

So, by burying his so-called support for two states deep in his website Obama satisfies people like your friend, but by never talking about it he satisfies those millions who don't read websites but listen and never hear anything except how he loves Israel.

    Thanks,
    Kathy & Bill

Unless Nanuq wants to take up the slack, that's the last thing I'd like to see. Spook is like Marg Dumont in any Marx Bros movie: miles behind but in it just enough to provide hours of entertainment.
