I have stayed and fished out of both the Palmes de Cortez, and the Punta Colorado resorts. Both were pretty similar in terms of lodging/fishing packages they offer, as well as the quality of the boats they send out. Palmes may have actually had a larger and slightly better fishing fleet. It's a lot of fun, especially if you have a good crew of guys to go with. We usually spent 4 days out of a week fishing out of Palmes, and then spent a couple nights down in Cabo San Lucas to party and what not. The trip we have organized this May is through Hotel Buena Vista (I think?), only because several other East Cape/Los Barriles resorts were booked already.
Fishing in May is a little early for the prime stripe marlin season, although pretty much every trip I have made has been late may/early june and we have typically had good luck fishing. Averaged a couple marlin per day per boat, some of the better days were 7 or 8 marlin and a couple tuna as well. Some of the slower days were skunks, or just a dorado or tuna here and there....there weren't too many of those though. As Hop said, Roosters, if you can find em are a blast for some inshore fishing action.
Ummm, yeah thats about all I got for now...could probably answer some other questions you have
