Looking for any links or info on some MTB rides around Portland and near Mt Hood. Since I will be out there for a week visiting a friend and then skiing with some maggots hopefully. Any info appreciated.

Try: http://www.fattirefarm.com/store/default.asp and go to the trails section. You may find something there.
If you don't mind doing a more gaperish ride, then PM me when you get here and I'll show you around Forest Park, which is right in town. No too challenging there, but ia ride's a ride, eh?Your dog just ate an avocado!

The trail from Govvy down to Rhododendron (?) is/was very nice (3 or 4 years ago). Just follow the X-town trail through town and head down. A couple uphills, but I remember them being short. Last bit into town is on the road but the trail is very worthy.
Unless you want to ride ~8+ miles? back up to Gov't camp, leave a shuttle at DQ, or thumb it.
