Well? Spill it! Year? Mileage? 4 or 6 banger? Auto or manual? Price?

Really reading your original post, that looks like a damn good choice for you.

Tires look fairly fresh too. Consider that $800. You would have to upgrade the asian drifting slicks that come on an element anyway.

I think the Xterra is more comparable to the Tacoma, I would never buy an Element.

    Good choice Dan and Liz.

Just wanted to post a question - why on earth would you need an Element over a Tacoma extended/double cab for kids? I just don't get it. My mom's family car for us was an '84 Trans Am Granted my sister and I got into vicious fights over who wouldn't cram into the tiny back seat, but wtf?
    I'm so hardcore, I'm gnarcore.

'97, 77k, V6, Auto, super clean interior, $9,800, pretty much everything we were looking for. Original owner was an old guy in Vegas who barely drove it, it's only been in SLC for two years. A BobMc inspection did reveal a leaky water pump but that repair was negotiated out of the purchase price. Only thing I don't like is the color but I can live with that.

My credit union just dropped a bit of bomb on us though. On the phone a few minutes ago finalizing our loan app. and the guy just casually mentions "Oh by the way, I know we pre-approved you for 60 mo. at 6.2%, but this vehicle is over 8 years old so the rate will be 9.9% for 36 mo." Gee, thanks for mentioning that little tidbit in the last three days we have been conversing We end up paying about two hundred less by the time it's paid off, but our payments will be almost double in the meantime. Good thing they were small to begin with.

Toyota trucks rule. I don't get why you aren't big on the 4runner though. People always choose to ride in mine instead of the trucks, it is also a better road trip vehicle, and I can fit just about anything that would fit in a pickup in it including sofas, lumber, 4'x8's, five pairs of skis on the roof, 4 bikes, all the shit, and the dogs of course. It still gets about 20mpg on the highway and has over 140,000 on it.
Just seems more versatile to me than a truck. Better leg room in the back because you know you will get pissed at the little rippers fightin in the back seat, and when you don't need the seats, flip 'em down. Oh yeah, thing never gets stuck.
Here is the 6 people in the 4runner going skiin pic.
    sigless.
