#1 computer repair technique; turn EVERYthing off, wait 30 seconds, turn it all back on again... re-post if problem continues...
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

I had an LCD monitor for a few years. About a month ago it started having the same symptoms you seem to be having. I thought sure it was the video card. Luckily another person I know was getting rid of their $200 black friday computer just like the one I was having problems with. To my amazement the monitor acted the same when connected to the second computer.

Soooooooo........ It may be a bad monitor. Do you have another computer you can plug the monitor into to see if the symptoms are the same?

Edit: Or do you have another monitor that you can plug into your new computer to see if the problem goes away?

Then, not enough information to begin offering help...
