Wtf was up with the shitshow out there yesterday. I think I saw 2 freakin' people with beacons all damn day. And pick one fucking trail up the mountain people. It gets fucking steep and your skins wont work in the wet snow so just sack up and boot pack and get the hell out of the way. I saw lots of gaping and sidestepping going.

Opted for 2 laps in the corn fields off of the ridge. They were untracked and very nice. Summit can wait for another day.

definitely alot of BC jongs out there. People skiing above parties below them all day. People breaking trail in all sorts of wrong places. Sick day other than that. Couldn't imagine being at the resorts....

is it me or does it seem like this happening all over tahoe (jongs with no avy gear or clue)? all around alpine where the side-country lines are (fairly) easily accessible, its been a shit-show this year. i recall one day in Jan (i was with kidwoo and another mag) when we hit a "secret" stash off alpine, and when we got tot he road, there must have been 5-8 people pop out, all with no avy gear (or clue). scary.

it actually doesn't suck at all. it's kinda like being a weekday resort skiier (which i am)... just more people in the parking lot and in line at sibo/shirley.

plenty of tooks on the north shore, too.... doesn't mean you can't ski. i've found that ever since i stopped going out of my way to hate on gapers that weekend ski days can be pretty sweet.

Didn't come across anyone else doing Carson to Kirkwood yesterday. Well other than the people opting to ski the NE facing icy hardpack near Roundtop??? The 7-11 was empty today and the turns were surprisingly nice. Guess everyone was boot-packing up Tallac.
