    Dear Splat

Things have a way of working out.
    You say this a lot.

Lets hear your philosophy behind it.

The proof is in the pudding.

It's that things do work out and they tend to get big when emotions run high and less so when things have a little time and retrospect behind them.

But in the end, no matter how dismal things might seem, they (and all of us) will always be just fine.

Hey I've gotten this far with nothing but a quick smile and a mellow disposition.

    That proves something.

I have to go back to baiting Nanuq now, but I'll be back.

So basically, situations find a resolution and that isn't affected by irrational intangibles like emotions, (unless those emotions are the basis behind particular actions) and said emotions tend to make such situation seem insurmountable, when in fact, they aren't. gotcha.

Or - it's comforting to know that even though shit couldn't be much worse than it might be at the moment, the universe is conducting balancing acts on a continuing basis in the main ballroom. And admission is free!

Edit: I just got out of the theater after watching Steep.
I am hands-down/tits-up high on skiing as the sport exists in today's world right now.
To see so many people I know and respect putting the feelings into words was just beyond.....words.

Sometime/some day, me thinks you should smoke a big fuckin' J, and just do some line of thought post about how you feel about the soul/state of skiing.....

I'll try to get some time for that after the season.
It was a big deal for us to take the time from building skis to go see the movie, but I have to say, I'm totally fukkin reinvigorated.

The universe may conspire to put a few hundred dollars in your path. What you do with that money is up to you.

No, don't focus on the problem so much that you miss opportunities for resolution.

When you ski trees, you see and acknowledge the trees yet your main focus is on the spaces that form your line. If you stood there and put all your attention on the obstacle, you would not see a way around it.

Expletive, I want to see that movie a whole bunch.

I like to watch the movies of guys ripping the big mountain lines (like I've never done), but I also like the story behind those lines. The mundane, tedious work that goes into making those big lines possible.

I want to see Swift, Silent, Deep. That movie promises more than just the spectacle of extreme skiing, but the culture of the people who do it. THAT is something I wanna see.

GWB just signed to fulfill your wish, but it will be awhile before you get your check. See, things have a way of working out, just as Splat philosophized.

As usual bklyn shows a wisdom far beyond her years.....

though, sometimes those spaces are still limited.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

If you walked by a street and you was walking the concrete and you saw a rose growing from concrete, even if it had messed up petals and it was a little to the side you would marvel at just seeing a rose grow through concrete. Same way is it that when you see some ghetto kid grow out of the dirtiest circumstance and he can talk and he can sit across the room and make you cry, make you laugh, all you can talk about is my dirty rose, my dirty stems and how am leaning crooked to the side, u can't even see that I've come up from out of that.
