It looks like a smaller swell and offshore winds could be pretty fun! Anybody going?

well, I'm certainly not going skiing, that's for sure. I'll probably be a bit farther north.

Might be going tommorow
might be out there, but probably heading for Pac.City or Shorties this weekend...i've been needing to visit OR so i can talk with Mr.Shuler about a new board![]()
Nice bud....I'm overdue for a new stick. Have you bought a board from him before?
nope, i've never had a board that wasn't off the rack from a shop, so i'm looking forward to having one finally shaped for me. Lanny's a great guy to chat with on the phone about the kind of board to have made and his epoxy system that is lighter, stronger, and less toxic than traditional resin sounds like a good way to go.

So many people seem stoked on his boards. Let us know how it turns out. I've thought about getting one from him.
Yeah...I'd like to know as well...seems like the right place to go. Anybody going out to the coast tommorow?
Hobuck was fun, but damn I need a wetsuit w/ an integrated hood. FUCK duckdiving was cold!!!! I thought I was going to pass out after one wave blew my squid lid off, then I had three more to contend with.
Aside from that, it was beautiful out. Good lefts all around!

Pacific City had some great mellow waves today....fun longboarding conditions. The sun was out, no wind, not too many people in the water...could even get away with leaving the gloves in the car after about 11am (which was great, cause I can't stand paddling with gloves on). Temps got up into the mid-50's....was even able to pop my head outta my hood for a little while, felt almost like summer.
Sweet...good to know people are out there catching some waves right now. Looks like that spring feeling is going to end this week. Oh well.....we might have to ride in that "snow" stuff instead.
fyi, for any of y'all who are thinking about getting a board this spring/summer you might wanna think about placing your order with your shaper of choice sooner than later.
I put in my order with Lanny and he said that in just the past couple months he's seen his material costs increase a lot due our economy and the cost of gas/freight and these costs will trickle down to increasing the price of a board.

$600 for a 7'-8" hybrid/eggy shape
if i woulda put in my order a couple months ago it woudl've been $50 less....said by summertime material costs could edge up prices a little more.
other shapers I've talked with typically charge about $100 a foot for a custom, so I think Shuler's price is still pretty darn good.
