    Google Street View

Anybody seen this yet? , this is amazingly cool and insanely creepy at the same time.

Go go maps.google.com, type in an address and click the Street View box. If you don't see that option, your street hasn't been driven or loaded yet.

I know SLC and surrounding is fully loaded, not sure where else. My home town isn't in there, so I'm guessing they've only done larger cities.

Edit: If you zoom out the whole country, you can see which cities have been done.

I'll need your street address so that I may send you a cookie or a trophy...your choice.

Actually, I just want to see what your house looks like.

It didn't work for where I live out here in the sticks. So, instead I looked up where I grew up, and I just wanna say:

HOLY SHIT!!! Ya move away for 28 years and the whole neighborhood goes to shit! They all drive different cars. Didn't recognize anybody. Cut down a bunch of the big trees. The little trees are all big fukkers now. Everybody painted their houses a different color. Put lawn where driveways were. Driveways where lawns were. Big fuckin McMansions where vacant lots full of kids playin were. Tore down the smaller houses for more McMansions... the old neighborhood just ain't the same no more. Like goin to mars. Shit!

Good to see that SLC was finally added...and it looks like they have pretty much every single street in the valley.

    Now watch this video:

Haha, you guys missed when it came out in SF and they had pictures of drug deals going on and some guy breaking into an apartment complex (not really, just climbing the iron fence).

Funny shit, but yes, big brother scary!

Sick shit. Sick, scary shit. I'm kinda confused though, did they just have a dude out there taking pictures all over the cities or what?

Actually it's a horde of gnomes with GPS.

Actually it's a special van with cameras on it that drives around.

i was driving to work the on friday alongside the one of the cars that takes all the pictures. I was pretty stoked, partially bc I had skis on top of my car and I may be headed for internet immortality, but then I remembered that Alma st heading north from Mountain View was probably one of the first streets they took pictures of, and the cameras probably weren't on. As of today, no subaru in the pics, aargh!

Had heard about this something like 2 years ago when they did the first west coast city... But just checked out my own neighborhood... It's now there = COOL!!!

It is just amazing the ways the internets will continue to change our porn.. um, sorry, I mean our world!!!

Edit: Has a real wide angle lens and makes my house look small, but was taken on what looks like a nice lush summer day in Wisconsin! And there aren't like 10,000,000 mosquitoes squished on the camera lens!

If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?
