Points North AK Heli/Make A Wish--2 slots open April 13

2 openings week of April 11 Sat -->

Points North Heli and Bobo's Mogul Mouse in Reno put together a helipackage with benefits going to the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION.
I went last year and killed it. I'm going again this week. No, you don't have to room with me. Here's the TR from last April: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=83623. PNH can take you to terrain from mellow to "WTF am I doing here, god help me," stomach-in-your-chest lines.

No exaggeration: the distance from your bed to the heli-pad is about a 5 second walk

$4225 all-inclusive: heli, fuel, week of room & board, transportation to/from airport in Cordova, AK
only extra cost is airfare from your location to Cordova, AK

--Skiers or snowboarders
--Preferrably very strong skills but if not or prefer lower angle terrain, then you can go with another group the same week
--You can rent avy gear on-site at a nominal fee if you don't have it (shovel, beacon, probe, harness)

I'm working on two buddies that originally committed to going and then backed out. One went to AK with me last year - the other needs to go this year.

WTF, AK is $4200US a week? I thought it was like $7 for some reason. Why am I about to pay $2600CDN for 3 days of cat skiing. Am I missing something or is this a huge discount? Goign to have to think about this for 2009 for sure.

Most AK trips are more. This trip is a great deal.

I have not researched heliskiing to the nth degree but it seems to be a bargain from what I've gathered. One of the guys I'm going with has gone on ~10 heli trips and he says this is trip is steal. Last year was his first trip to PNH and he said it was the gnarliest terrain he'd ever been on ever. He also says it's a veritable bargain.

Last year was even cheaper, under $4k!
