Okay, i'll try. I needed a tux because dress code was strictly enforced. Without a tux or a suit, you didn't get in the door. Unless you were a girl. Then, you were allowed to wear a dress. This isn't to say that we weren't allowed to get a little scandalous... they just wanted to see formal attire (even very revealing formal attire was allowed). I arrived in a chauffeur driven limo because I've never been in one, and this will be my last chance for a long time, maybe ever... I also wanted to make it a night to remember for my girlfriend, whom i absolutely adore. The room is because parents generally don't like after parties at their house when they are trying to sleep. Would you like it if there were 30 drunk kids in your basement screaming? Most people I talked to didn't hook up with anyone... the afterparty is not all about sex. Sure, some people had sex, but mostly it was about drinking and stuff.Originally posted by InspectorGadget
Somebody please explain to me why a high school kid needs to go to any prom dressed in a tuxedo/formal; arrive in a chaffeur driven limo; and, get a room! The night my daughter doesn't come home from a prom will be her last prom and his last night.[/out of touch rant]
Good on ya AKPM.
