Yeah i just had prom too. It was fun i have a steady so no probs with the date. It seems like everybody tries to cram so much fun into prom, then inevitably they get dissapointed, i say keep it chill party with your friends but don't expect anything to crazy. But yeah stag, that's rough, you should have at least gone to some kinda party afterwards

Way to go AKPM- I went stag to my prom, too, but had the most fun, I think, out of anyone there. That's because I went with a bunch of my girlfriends - there were about 10 of us, 8 of which went stag together. Great memories.....there wasn't a song we didn't dance to, except for the slow ones of course.
No one asked me to prom outright; actually, I nearly asked a guy, but chickened out.
As long as you had fun, that's all that matters. Those girls who rejected you for a mere dance are lame...just make sure you don't give them free rides to the powder - get some money from them so it's a fair trade.

Yea AKPM... prom blows donkey cock. As others have said overrated horseshit strutfest for the elite cliques who go nowwhere after highschool. Fukem...

I skipped all but perhaps 3 dances in HS. I went stag to my senior prom. I showed up at a dress rehersal to ask this girl I really liked... I even had a rose to present when asking. She saw me and snuck out the back door before I could ask her... a then she had a mutual friend call me and tell me not to ask her because she was waiting for her dream guy (the football QB) to ask her out (which he never did... HA!). So I said, "screw that pussy bitch" and just went to dinner with a group of friends, bored myself at the dance, and didn't even bother with the afterprom. It's all horse shit.

I like this kid - a Red Sox fan 5000 miles from Fenway - I'm watching the game right now- (losing 6-4 to the Tribe).
My boy, I expect you to know what this photo is.

That would be the "Splendid Splinter", Ted. What you are looking at is a photo of him hitting a homer is his last career at bat in 1960. He also hit a homer in his FIRST major league at bat in 1939. How cool is that? And somewhere in the middle he missed 3 season a Marine fightor pilot in WWII. Sits frozen in a cryogenics lab in Arizona, how sad.

prom isn't overrated, and i don't know why everyone says so. I know tons of people that had a lot of fun... in fact, most of the senior class at my school had a great time... and not just the people that aren't going anywhere in life either.

It sucks that you guys had a bad time at your proms (not you AKPM, just the people that think prom sucks), but most people really do enjoy them. I don't even like dances, and i had a great time. So rather than telling a bunch of kids that prom is overrated, let them figure it out for themselves. I didn't listen to the people that told me it would suck, and i had a great time. The only guy I know who didn't have fun was a guy who had heard prom was overrated and went around spewing that to everyone. Hell, even he probably had fun, he just didn't want to admit it and sound like an idiot after telling everyone how much prom sucks.

No guarantees. But it seems to work for Rick James.
I decided on trail of rose pedals and notes and me waiting at the end. but that was a close second.

No one asked me to my senior prom (my school only had one dance a year - a senior prom). I asked a really cute freshman from another school.

I'm impressed with this board. When I first read his post, I thought it was going to go in a whole different direction.

So AKPM- the "You wanna see my Bjorn Super Prawn" line didn't fly, eh. No pun intended. Better luck next time.

You seem pretty secure and self-assured. These are two qualities that can't be taught. Stick with it. I was no high school stud, but came around at college. Being self-assured and not giving a shit what other people think, while not super cool in highschool, will get you everywhere in college.

Fuck prom. I went with my girlfreind to her senior prom and had enough fun with that. We both looked smoking and had a good time.

I opted out on my senior prom when I found out tickets were 140 fucking dollars a pair. That's 70 fuckin dollars a pair and they don't even give me the reach around. PLus tux, limo, hotel room after i would have to work over 60 hours at work just to pay for one night. Not worth it.

I give you credit for going stag hope you had a good time.

How could you forget? Wasn't high school in the same schoolhouse that you attended first through ninth grade? I mean "back then" and all...

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one -- big hitter, the Lama -- long, into a ten-thousand foot crevice, right at the base of this glacier. And do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga...gunga -- gunga galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consiousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

    Good on ya AKPM.

    Why?
cause you said you went alone and no one to hang with I figured there had to be some others bro you could have kicked it with.

On a side note, one prom I went to the girl was such a bitch that I ended up taking her home at like 10:30 and then returning with no date. It was fucking hillarious, the girl transfer schools over it.
