Anyone take pictures of the recent tracks?
History shows: Pass pulled and then they will have you running the bungee jump. Or maybe it happened the other way around.

I saw some tracks down it on Thursday. As I'd never been there before I thought it was something that was done, and didn't think to post a thread about it. Oh well.
you can see the tracks in the pic posted by gonads on page 1 of this thread... post #22.
i haven't spent much time looking at them, but i don't think you can tell where they went after the choke.
my money is on roner. ps tgr your blog is not good for seo at all.

roner & flahr were getting escorted around closed terrain by squaw patrol the day before it was poached...coincidence? has tram face ever been in an msp film? scandalous i say!
The mcconkey helmet cam from tram face in the hit list gives me goosebumps every time. Best shot in the movie IMO.
I don't know if you're trying to make it sound like there's a totally legal way to ski Tram Face from in-bounds (which we all know there is not, and no matter what gray area you may claim is good to go, you know full well the area is closed), but whether you are or not, why don't you just tell people how to steal your car while you're at it? Sounds just about as bright as posting "How to Poach Insane Closed Terrain" on the internet.
As for has it ever been opened? In my knowledge, just one day about 6-7 years ago. That attempt also lacked foresight, as they opened it on a Saturday (of all things) and patrol had to belay 2 or 3 gripped weekend warriors out. That was enough to put an end to that.

Huck, there is a way you can legally get tram face (lower lookers left) this year! I will not disclose how to access but any squally local will figure out. ALso skiers far right boundry of Silvy is game this year as well, there is enough gnar there for another chapter of Squawllywood. Also, according to a inside ski patrol source he made it sound as iff they wanted to open up a lot more of squaws boundries, ie. shiley canyon/tram face, silvy, smoothy, etc. weather permiting.
no shit, huck knows where to go but I don't want to disclose all the secrets to the rest of you floundering kooks.
Wait, are you saying the Gaffneys' DON'T have a red Squaw phone?
Gaffney has way more inside info on squaw then I will ever have, but if your there every day and your poking around, this year you will see some different things as far as lollipop placement or lack there of on purpose.

Yep, been in to that lower section and if it was actually open, we'd have a whole new killer zone of some of the steepest stuff and best airs on the mountain. Unfortunately, my Super Squaw phone notified me that it's not technically open terrain--it just hasn't officially been closed yet. A patroller told me as soon as they see too many tracks in there, closed signs will go up, and the moment they see a sidestep uphill (which is necessary to really hit those lines from their natural start), it'll be shut down even quicker. But there is talk of pushing boundaries. Oldtimer actually wrote an email to Nancy (who has shown interest in Tram Face access) and told her that if she wants a tour, he knows it quite well. I thought that was pretty funny.
