Word around town is that it's all ice up there... and not likely to corn up by next weekend. That doesn't make for a lot of fun... some are saying they aren't likely to go.

As for rain/shit conditions/avy danger dates... maybe we give her majesty the Mt. a couple weeks and go for April 26th...? I want to be able to offer the same peeps the same accomodations and I have alternative placement for my son for that weekend...

    What's the concensus?

I've been looking forward to it and will be sad to not have it be next weekend but I want it not to suck as BC experiences go...

Hm, perhaps a poll is in order...

My sources say its good to go.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

I'll be in the valley whether or not there is tux happening. I propose that there be beer drinking this weekend either way.

skied central in Huntington today, spring skiing is officially on, did the whole climb in t-shirts, perfect corn the whole way down, if the weather cooperates this weekend could be money

Southeast Maggot and myself are backing out on this weekend. Tentatively penciling in the 4/26 weekend, or later; but we will be at Tucks before the season is over.

So, can we get a final tally on this weekend? It's going to be cold and wet, so screw skinning. Either way, I believe VG is planning a get together for a bit of debauchery. Plan on a drunken trek in the drizzle (even if it is in the school yard).

Your decision to come will help me decide on whether to make that daunting drive ALL THE WAY to VG's.

Either way.....there must be more mini plans at Tux in the future.

    Deal-ee-oooo!!!

If Guitar Hero stuff isn't in that room, I'll be hunting it down... and Zman is welcome any ol' time, just for his cat terrorizing capabilities...

    let's have it

somebody from this thread must have bit the bullet and gone up.

where are the pics? where is the TR? where are my pants?

If there be not anyone who went, and there be not any information regarding what would probably have been a couple of the best Tuck's days of this spring, then I respectfully request, with humility, that this be the last post on this thread, and that the poorly laid plans of others may stack up upon it, relegating thusly to the deepest depths of oblivion.

    I can't believe I didn't go up there

is that a joke? a cruel joke? or did mother nature (mother nature's messenger, the mt. washington observatory) really scare us away from great spring conditions?

how is that even possible. every weather report i checked saturday morning said it was currently raining, and that it was expected to rain throughout the day.

regardless, like ec said, someone post a tr from the mini summit that wasn't.

With respect to my buddy Tash's request to be the last post, I have to add this:

Yes, it was bluebird and would have been fantastic. When I woke up at 4:00am and it was raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock, I too went back to bed and slept late. Woke up to beautiful conditions and thought about going but was not prepared and would have got there way to late for it to have been worth it.

So I got my Mt. Bike ready to role and then skinned up Cranmore, met a new Maggot on the summit and drank a few beers. Ended with some unreal good corn skiing down Hurricane.

Yes, we all got duped by the goddamned weathermen.

I hoped that when I got up and looked at "summits" tuckerman mini would be something other than the most recently posted on...nope...

H, you suck, but I still love you

    in other news, I had an idea;

Austrian Fox Hunt- bury beers on a specific trail or in a region on the Mt. with an avi beacon, and the search party has a certain amount of time to ping it and drink, and if they can't find it the fox shows them where they are, and then they drink... thoughts?

i'd committed to ski MRG on saturday, rain or whatever...and given the forecast, didn't panic when i overslept 2 hours.
left the house to ridiculously warm and sunny weather - expecting to enter the predicted cold and rain further north.
except for the MRG cloud, it was sunny all the way north.
arrived at the hill just as the sun was coming out.
warm+beautiful day, fantastic corn...and no people!
    the east was duped.

then skiied in the bluster+snow yesterday at stowe...

Was there on Friday with Best of Show and non-mag brother. TR will be posted sometime today/tomorrow but there are no action ski shots, just climbing hiking. Also waiting for some pictures to be sent over from someone we met up with for the climb.
