Im no medical expert but that could be something serious if it isnt just an isolated incident. Could be like a stroke type thing- if it intensifies or you start to lose any feeling in your hand you may want to call your Dr. Dont be alarmed or anything- you may just want to wear some sleeves and save the tank tops for the beach in summer- but just dont let it go if it persists.

I've also heard this can be one of the signs of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...

Or maybe; Our touch sense of warm/cold is quite relative, you touch someone/somewhere that is warmer; you feel warmth, they feel cold.

So maybe you just have a raging STD and when you were wanking, the infected member made your hand feel cold???
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

The other day my left hand turned blue and I started freaking out. It didn't feel weird, it just had this strange tinge and I became convinced that there was some severe circulatory dysfunction going on, and that medical attention was totally necessary. Only after massaging it vigorously did I realize that it was because I was wearing new jeans that hadn't been washed, and that my hand had actually been dyed by the pigment.

Ha! That's a good one. I have had things like this happen to me and then I laugh my ass off when I realize what's up.

I'm always expecting the worst though and freak out easily.

Wouldn't that just exaserbate (sp?) the situation?

Oh man, I had a sort of similar scare with new blue jeans - I was working with a strong herbacide called Tordon which according to our scientifically informed bosses can be birth defect causing even at the lowest parts per milllion. Tordon has a slightly blue tinge to its color, so I started freaking out when my work gloves were turning blue... I tossed them and bought a new pair because I thought I had somehow got Tordon on them... new gloves turn blue... oh shit, it dawns on me its because I'm sweating through my new blue jeans.

It is because you wank with your left hand. Most of us are right handed, so are left hand is the cold one.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Aside from all the above comments, here's the scoop. If you have something medical going on with your hand, here's a thought.

You have three nerves that control your hand, radial, medial, ulnar. Radial controls your thumb and index finger, medial controls your middle finger and half of your ring finger, ulnar controls the other half of your ring finger and little finger.

Your nerves control the turgor (or rigidity) of your blood vessels, and hence the blood flow to your hand. If your nerves are impaired, that may cause the vessels to contract thereby restricting the blood flow to your hand an causing it to be cold. Carpal tunnel syndrome can cause this as the nerves are impinged where they travel through the carpal tunnel.

I handled a case for a friend where he was injured in a golf cart accident by a "hey watch this" driver. His humerus was severely broken and the resulting scar tissue impaired the above three nerves. He now has a severely impaired hand due soley to the nerve impairment in his upper arm.

Anyway, if it's serious and continuing, get the hence to an MD.
