    Newbie intro and gear/trip stoke

Hola - wanted to post up a quick intro - been trolling for a while. I'm from the NW (Portland) - but living in NC for the past few years. Yes, I made the mistake of trying to ski back here - no, I don't recommend it! I'm finally getting back to the mountains this week...all the TRs have pretty much killed my productivity the past few days! Thanks for all of them...at least someone has been enjoying the white.

Anyway - jumping on a plane tomorrow for a couple of weeks in utah, then headed up to White Grizzly for a week after that - can't wait!!! To top that off...something just showed up on my door step.

Nice skis. Storm is blowing through here right now, so I assume it just left Utah. Have a good trip!

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

You haven't skied in a couple years and you're going to Utah for a week on a pair of Legends? Can I touch you?
Shut your eyes and think of somewhere. Somewhere cold and caked with snow.

    thanks for the welcomes.

dharma - sorry, try to hold yourself together, but no touchy... didn't say no skiiing for a couple years - just not living close to it. rode them for the past few days - they rock!!! i wondered how they'd be on the hard pack, but they just feel like gs skis - just don't be half-ass about initiating a turn - and they absolutely love to go fast on about anything. no regrets on the choice or purchase.

next week we'll see how they like some deep pow up in BC!

I’ve been lurking for a bit over a year, so I thought I’d pile on freefall’s n00b intro.

I’m heading to JH & then SLC at the end of the week, so work’s dragging more than usual. I normally ski interior B.C. (Fernie, Red & Whitewater), but with the high $CDN, time to go stateside. Crossing my fingers for slackcountry snow stability. I’ll be on Fatypus A-lotta’s; coming from Eastern Central Canada (Ottawa), I’ve only given them a shakedown on “hardpack machine groomed granular” aka ice, so I’m stoked to get them out on the deep.

Heading to Whistler on biz in early April, so I’ll vacation while there once biz is done, including hooking up w/ Extremely Canadian for some balls out steeps. Then back to WY in late May for a 5 day ski/riding mountaineering adventure w/ Exum. If fates etc. smile, I aim to ski the Grand w/ Exum shortly thereafter.
