    The Mother of all Telephotos

Canon 1200/5.6L. I've seen info on these before. I think they had one in SLC for the olympics...

I love this quote "An EOS Mark III mounted on this thing looks like a rear lens cap with handle bars."

There's a link in the text that goes to the product page. They have the price listed as $99,000...

    That thing is a beast.

I would be interested to see how the image quality compares to this:

    * The world’s first ultra telephoto zoom lens that offers a fast aperture of F2.8 at the 500mm focal length.
    * The dedicated “Attachment” ensures autofocusing at the 1000mm focal length.
    * SLD and three ELD glass elements provide high image quality from the maximum large aperture
    * Supplied with ø72mm filter holder at the rear

You want to know how a teleconverted Sigma zoom compares in IQ to a built-to-order Canon L prime... for the love of Ansel, don't be daft!

    W...O...W... That thing is gnarly.

I was just cut n' pasting the "The Mother of all Telephotos" title from a B&H newsletter... maybe they should have said "Canon's Mother of all Telephotos." Thanks for the link.
