Hope i never get this, fingers crossed.
watch out for snakes
Sadly this thread is way too timely for me as I have it right now. Relatively small outbreak on one side of torso. So far anti viral meds don't seem to be doing shit to fix it, or maybe they are simply stopping it getting a whole lot worse.
For me it's a constant sting, feels like stepping into the shower with a large fresh graze. Would really suck to have permanent nerve damage like this.
Not much stress going on in my life right now and I'm too young for this so I figure it's just bad luck.
My mother has been battling this for a few months now.. auto-immune issues... Just seems so agonizing.

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.
The nature of "stress" varies. My doc came down with a case while in med school. In case, he says, the stress was that he was partying too hard between semesters. Drinking a lot, climbing, hiking and biking a lot, not sleeping much, and when he did half of ti was under the stars, actually put a lot of stress on his body, even though he was having fun.

This is a great reminder to schedule my second shot.

Jeezus, all - get your shingles vax. If you haven't gotten it yet, schedule it now.
Ain't nobody got time for this kind of shit...
At 50 right?

Got them last December and March. The first one was NBD, got my Flu shot and Covid booster at the same time with it. VERY mild body aches and sensitive skin.
The second one sucked, bad body aches, painful, sensitive skin all over, shivering chills without fever. Had me in bed under the covers before dinner. Fortunately felt better by the next day.
Still better than shingles.
There's nothing better than sliding down snow, flying through the air
Shingles sucks balls... That is all
My wife always seems to get a bad reaction from vaccines and both Shingrix shots took her out for a couple days. My recollection for me was some general malaise from both shots, but certainly better than the alternative.
First and second shot both gave me fever, soreness, headache, completely cleared my bowels. It wasn't great but definitely could tell I wasn't really sick. Shot in the evening, unable to stay awake after a few hours, rough morning, all good by late evening.
Get it done.
Anecdotally, the pneumonia shot is probably worse according to my wife and dad, but I rarely get much for symptoms from vax other than sore arms, this was a different animal.

how soon do the bad effects from the vaccine kick in.... can I get away with vaccine just before a wine tasting event?
